Honestly, that's why I sometimes post the not as high but with potential TP profiles, because IRL, it's hard to win in the portal against stiff competition.
Who knows what's going on right now, but it seems like getting the 2nd visit is risky (at least so far), but maybe the winning teams are way overspending, or maybe they're using the you'll have to play school / go to class, or maybe even, ND is not in conference and nobody wants to schedule them - You'll hardly be in any big time prime time TV games.
I have no idea what ND's staff is using at its approach but there better be a lot of due diligence and organization and strategy planning because the TP market moves FAST.
You can shoot for say Marsh and Ibirogba, and maybe you lose - even before the player visits - the player quickly to another team; did you already have research done and offer out for a next best player or two in that position (esp. if it's a position of need)? Because if not, the next best player or two are already on site visiting a team (if not already committed).
Throw in how tough this can be if you're in the CFP which - I hate to say it - is serious props to Cig and staff to pull off what they're pulling off. I do think since IU is more focused on the portal, they're likely spending more of their NIL / Collective $ on TP players and likely spending healthily. And, I think their AD and University and backers are on board and committed to it as long as Cig and staff keep winning.
(Hence, they do have contract review clauses to reward or punish Cig and staff depending on results so there is high rewards / high risk involved.
