2026 ND Portal Targets

Um, IU # ND are programs that are fundamentally built differently. IU absolutely has to nail the portal because their HS classes are ranked in the 50's & 60's.
ND is largely built through High School recruiting and brings in classes ranked inside the top 10.
For IU the portal is the filcrum around which the program revolves. For ND the portal is to add finishing pieces.

That’s the whole point of having and offering a lot of $$$ plus having freeman as a head coach. It sure as hell isn’t for his Xs and Os. Very few portal players are going to a spot because that’s where they truly want to be. It’s for the $$, coach(es), exposure, opportunity.
It’s a joke we didn’t have players lined up to be on campus this weekend. We declined a bowl and had all the time in the world. It’s not over by any stretch but they better land 2 very good DTs, a very good WR, and a very good nickel.
Remember, the staff already failed with Billy not coming back this off season.

There are going to be bigger fish pop up. We "won the portal" out of the gates a year or 2 ago and then all the sudden bigger names leaped in. It's going to be a wild couple of weeks.

I’ve been positive minus gray lately. We were by all accunts the one to beat for marsh and ibirogba. We lost marsh, and it doesn’t sound as positive now for ibirogba.
If we lose out on both most likely this portal will be a failure. Declining the bowl was to focus on 26, we can’t fail now.
Despite what people think, freeman’s recruiting until the 26 class has been overrated. You can’t have the holes we’ve had recruiting at WR and DL requiring such huge portal additions. We’ve recruited at high levels elsewhere so there’s a chance but it requires getting top targets out of the portal.

The portal rules this year are very different than last year. You aren’t going to see many “big fish” enter the portal the next week or so other than maybe the 4 remaining cfp teams. The big fish have already entered minus any cfp remaining players.

Strong has already visited cal so I'm assuming we lock him up tomorrow. So many guys are deemed to be portal all stars and don't do shit at their new school. Hopefully nd hits on them but it's a crapshoot

I mean Indiana is undefeated, just had a transfer win the Heisman, and just stopped Bama. I don’t know why anyone would think we had an advantage over them in the transfer portal.

How do you get that from this tweet? He was getting guarded by a top corner in the Big Ten last year(would’ve gotten plenty of playing time as rookie if not for a torn ACL) and still had 4 catch’s 89 yards and a touchdown despite who he was going
against. Odds are, there won’t be many corners that are on the level that Walley was, and with Carr as his QB, sky’s the limit.

I live in the area not too far from wake forest. All their insiders were stating he’s all ND, until recently. Stated we had earliest and most contact he was very interested in ND.
