I don't know the whole story obviously.

All I know is the dude chose to not even visit. Seriously bad move on his part. Can't tell me he couldn't have waited two days. I'm guessing he was made an offer monetarily and they said take it or leave it and when the number was relayed to ND they didn't match it so he committed

Would like to know if that happened or not.

Now THIS is the HS crootin’ type angst and drama that I missed from the late 00s and 10s.

1) Strong is not the player Marsh is. Not even close. Strong cannot seperate what so ever

2) all of you acting like this is not a big deal need to take a lap. Marsh is exactly what CJ needed. Absolute difference maker.

3) All in football program? My ass.
I agree on #1 and #2. Depending on who else comes available and whether they can get through admissions, ND might need to take 2 WR's.

I disagree on #3 because we don't know who else will enter the portal and if ND can close on their top targets at positions of need (specifically WR, 2 starting caliber DT, and Kicker). I'm not happy about losing Marsh, but I'll withhold judgement until the dust settles. If ND basically whiffs on their top targets at WR and DT, I'll be right there crushing them.

True, but we haven't produced many first round WR's in the last 20 years. I think we are going to need a few more seasons of top-flight QB play to show we have a great passing attack.

I don’t think it will ever happen. We seem content bludgeoning people to death with running backs, which is awesome, but definitely will continue to hurt WR recruiting.

Cj spreads the ball around a lot. Faison and fields each had just over 600 yds this year, that doesn't exactly show hey we are going to feed you the ball and get you 1000 yds

Love how he specifically phrases his tweets just to drive engagement and no actual insight/analysis.

How much analysis can he give in a tweet?

It is engaging, but it's true. Marsh is electing to go to a school without a QB (publicly announced) and not to ND who has CJ Carr.

That's easy and simple insight, but it's the truth.

It's a huge, huge loss but Indiana is the new hotness and they have money to spend. They really did not spend that much in the portal to assemble the current team.

Yeah. That’s kind of a jackass tweet.

It’s not only a dig, it reads like a chicken shit, vague post implying “what is in the water in South Bend?” to stir shit up with the other upcoming portal battles.

Maybe that Marsh didn’t even visit ND yet or mention who else ND is targeting at WR. Pretty easy context to add, but that won’t drive as much bed wetting engagement.

Pete also has a tendency to tweet like this purposely, so I was more pointing out a long-term trend.

Go get Wyatt Young! Most underrated player in the portal.

I think people ought to be able to have multiple thoughts simultaneously.

1). This is definitely a loss, as it is when ND finishes for a huge target out of high school.

2). There are other players out there that can play. They might have different games, but they can still play. Isiah Cannion has worlds of upside. Maybe ND offers him the same package they were set to offer Marsh. Ian Strong doesn't run as well as Marsh, but does everything else really well. He's kind of a hybrid of Miles Boykin and Javon McKinley.

3). Losing out on one portal target doesn't prove anything about ND's Portal strategy. We also have to remember that we're still fans of Notre Dame, which means that there are other things at play than just football, especially when it comes to undergrad transfers. There is an academic piece that ND is being more lenient on in some cases, but still matters to the university.

Unless the staff has something up their sleeve, there’s not a WR of the same caliber as Fields/Marsh on the radar.

ND has the QB and just made MF an even richer man. Let’s not get shy when it comes to acquiring CFP level talent, please.

Agreed on Strong, he sort of reminds me of a Boykin type in that I bet he tests a lot faster than he actually plays
