And it should further than that
IU will have at least 30 transfers. Going to be a whole new team and no promises cigs jmu and transfer mercenaries continue to hit
Coach Cig and the crew can't recruit talent nor develop it, so just buy a team. Rivals #60 ranked team in 2024, #53 team in 2025 and #31 in 2026. I guess it's worked for their football program this year, but it sure hasn't for their lower-level basketball team. Fuckin' Loosiers!

I mean, cig has won at every level. Hate on him if you want but he is a good coach who wins

Is there a way to ban tweets from this account on IE? This same conversation has happened hundreds of times over the last couple years. This Bruce guy is a total clown.
Yes. No idea what the owners have access to but coding is possible.

Has he ever been right about anything in the past? The last few times he's appeared on here he's been wildly off.

He's doubling and tripling down on Marsh being on campus today and ND trying to lock him up so he doesn't go visit IU.

Here is where he is wrong...

There are no unofficial or official visits for transfers.

They are all just visits.

Nope. He has no sources.and his game has been discussed on here for months. He takes info from message boards and pay sites and regurgitates it. His "info" on the Freeman extension on December 8 was it would be announced "soon." Just enough vagueness to allow him to say he was right. He didn't have any sources, he was just re-reporting what people with actual sources were already saying (that the contract extension was being worked on and would likely be done by the end of the year).

So can they sign on their visits? If so then you really can lock a guy down on his visit.

What in the actual fuck are you talking about? He took a bunch of his JMU players to the cfp last year and now rolls into his third offseason having just won the B1G and probably should be the favorite to win the cfp. How on earth can you say he doesn't develop talent, right now?

He's also an outstanding talent evaluator.

The last time they played a legit top team they lost. They even got drubbed! ND had them down 27-3 and gave up the usual garbage scores.

I would argue that he absolutely developed talent at every other stop before Indiana AND obviously knows how to coach guys up to play his schemes.

With that being said... this current team is probably the most mercenary squad in the whole playoffs. Tons of 5th and 6th year guys he brought in from other places that were already developed. So it's fair to say that this team is winning more because of talent acquisition / good evals in the portal than it is him "developing" 18 year olds into good players.

2024 G5 Portals
Indiana – QB Kurtis Rourke (Ohio), RB Ty Son Lawton (James Madison), RB Kaelon Black (James Madison), WR Elijah Sarratt (James Madison), WR Miles Cross (Ohio), TE Zach Horton (James Madison), LB Aiden Fisher (James Madison), LB Jailin Walker (James Madison), CB D’Angelo Ponds (James Madison), DE Mikail Kamara (James Madison), S Shawn Asbury II (Old Dominion).

He recruited all these Indiana players out of high school. Horton and Walker were drafted last year in the NFL and Sarrett and Ponds are definitely getting drafted this year. Cig has been their only college coach.

Honestly, I'm probably just getting tired of people saying outlandish ass shit because they don't respect IU. I get it, they have truly came out of no where, and people don't like it, but to say that Cig hasn't "developed" anyone is nonsense. Indiana is as disciplined of a team as any I remember and I consider mistake free football a result of "development".

If the money keeps flowing and IU keeps on winning, the recruits will come. We have plenty of examples where money + winning = blue chips.

If Freeman won a natty using the same methods, would you be okay with it?

That's the 2024 portal you linked? His current team is mostly 4th / 5th / 6th year players, a mix of home grown and transfers. His Heisman QB, RB, TE, and half his OL were all developed elsewhere and are plug-and-play transfers. His defense is much more home grown with a mix of JMU follows/ IU recruits and only a couple plug-and-play impact transfers. Average age of players is 22+ years old.

Yes, he obviously has a great history of developing talent.

Yes, his current team is extremely reliant on transfers that he didn't develop. They are much more akin to a Miami in the way they approach the portal than they are a Notre Dame or Georgia.

I think it's fair to question whether Indiana's success is sustainable - they're not really recruiting top high school players, and it'll be hard to maintain such a high hit rate in the portal now that the JMU pipeline has dried up - but to say they haven't beaten legit teams is a little ridiculous at this point. They are very good, and that's all Cignetti.

JMU backbone+huge transfer hits (think Coogan, Mendoza)

What happens when JMU backbone is gone and some transfers don't hit or gel?
