So… the big 12 is really a group of 5 conference with better name recognition

Why OOC games are so important. They skated all year playing teams that aren’t close to the top of the sport player to player.

ARKANSAS would have the highest team talent in the B12!

Indiana is genuinely an anomaly to me.. did they really crush the portal that much?

Kids that were basically out of the top 50 of their positions are absolutely throttling their competition.

It’s bizarre lol

Defensively they don’t look the part but they are in the backfield on every play. Offensively they just open homes to run through.

Maybe Cignetti is just that influential? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team with so many unheralded players play so well.

Recruiting college kids has some advantages relative to high school kids i suppose

It's competent coaching, ND didn't have it for 25 years

It feels like the team is a mixture of:

An Outback Bowl level, Barry Alvarez era Wisconsin team

An Alamo Bowl level, Mike Leach era Texas Tech team

A bunch of faceless dudes who do their job very well.

In IU’s case, they have the speed, athleticism, grit, strength, execution to all phases well.

What I have yet to hear from a single one of these media pricks, whether it was JMU and Tulane getting stomped, TT get blanked, Bama getting spanked by Indiana, is anything related to maybe Notre Dame should’ve been in. Fucking clowns!
Because the press -with the ACC's complicity- framed the debate as ND vs. Miami, when it should have been Alabama vs. OU. On this view, the committee "got it right" because Miami has done well. To be clear, both Miami and ND deserved to be in.

Once Bama and Miami won in th first round, that was never going to be a discussion.

Indiana is literally last in the B10 in the 247 talent composite. What he’s doing is unprecedented. It doesn’t make any sense.
Good roster management - lot of 4 and 5 year players who are bought in, their better players are at critical positions and seems like they've stayed relatively healthy.

Probably juicing too.

they are a bunch of uglies that are like a beautiful family playing like a team whereas the SEC type schools are like the dysfunctional Kardashian family playing like spoilt twats.

Exactly. And even that, the Miami win wasnt Surprising. They have been playing well and their D shutting down the OSU O shouldn't have surprised many.

I have said all along, and this just highlighted it, I think ND, Miami, and A&M were the best teams this season. I still think that. Just bad luck we had the other two right off the bat.
Agreed but Indiana belongs in the mix too

Talent composite doesn't work when you are bringing in dozens of developed players. These guys are 20+ years old with tons of college film to show that they are good. For example, Mendoza is considered to be TOTALLY ASS by talent composite but is actually a Heisman winner.

Well-coached team with no holes. No superstars, but every single guy is good.

The fact we are staring down the barrel of Indiana winning a national championship is still insane.

Notre Dame not being in the playoff is the It’s a Wonderful Life ending where George Bailey isn’t there and suddenly Indiana wins the title.

Am I the only one who thinks ND would have brought a lot more creativity and excitement to the playoffs? I dont recall any big special team plays etc.

Indiana is so well coached and plays violently. I love watching this team of misfits beat OSU, Oregon, and Bama

They’re the team I’m most worried about facing left in the playoffs
