Thanks man! Looking forward to corresponding with you as well. I've been busy coaching college ball for the last few years and have been away from posting. That said, I've remained a lurker on a few boards and felt like it was time to start contributing again.
I remember reading all of your stuff back on the free rivals boards in like 2005, glad you’re back posting. You got me into message boards and ND recruiting

I would like clarification...which flag waves in the wind at your local city hall?

The maple syrup chugging, igloo living, polar bear taming, apology issuing, fentanyl pushing, dairy protectionist type from the north.

Thanks man! I recruit the Mississauga / Etobicoke / Brampton area quite frequently. A lot of quality football talent in that region West of Toronto, down through London and Windsor.

I'm in the Ottawa area. Right in the middle of the Leafs and the Habs.

There are some quality players in ROPSAA. Big disparity in talent however, as there are only a few schools that take football seriously. This was almost 15 years ago, so I'm not sure how much has changed though.

Decent handful on NFLers have come out of the Southern Ontario area. Brent Urban, Luke Willson, Tyrone Crawford, Sydney & Chase Brown, John Metchie, Neville Gallimore (from your neck of the woods), Josh Palmer etc..

We get a good number of kids out of ROPSAA, Etobicoke and that QEW stretch. ECI, Richview, Lorne Park, St. Roch, etc have been good to us over the years. It's not London, Windsor or Montreal in terms of the volume of kids per capita that are playing high level ball, but there is definitely quality competition.

A lot of the recruiting now is based on their summer club teams. There is a much great concentration of talent that is easier to recruit, rather than trying to make it to 8-10 high schools on a short recruiting trip, to see 1-2 guys at each stop.

In my experience, the OVFL was the best .The size, athleticism and just overall skill of many of the players would be comparable to many levels of HS football in the States. You didn't really get that at the high school level in ROPSAA, aside from a small handful of teams that may have had two or three guys capable of playing in the OUA. All of which is to your point.

Going to take a shot in the dark here, but are you coaching/scouting for Carleton?

Neat stuff.

When I was being recruited, Coach Asselin resigned than Etcheverry was brought in but didn't last past five or six games. I wasn't seriously looking at UO but I remember being excited when he was brought in because he was DC for several years in the CFL.

I received a few emails and the like from Dave Jackson, and I briefly spoke with the DC... McDermid I think?

Out of curiosity, how is the east end of Toronto in terms of talent? I played high school ball in Scarborough many many moons ago but I haven't kept up on the scene of late. We had a couple of kids from our team go on to play University ball but I've lost touch with them ages ago.

Another starting, productive TE but with even bigger size and height; also has only 1 year left of eligibility.
