I'm starting to get the impression this guy will be looking for additional offers no matter where he signs. It was ND, then it was Georgia, now it's both and some others. Just seems like this might be one of the more difficult recruitments, even if you agree to pay big.
He visited ND, liked it, told reporters he would wait until signing day, the reporters put in predictions anyway because the coaches felt good about the recruitment, he didn't commit, visits other schools and likes them and still holds to his original schedule and fans start shit talking him.

Of all the problem actors in this, I don't think he is near the top of the list.

Hey, totally fair and I retract my original point. I didn't realize that was his timeline. Often when CBs roll in for us, then CBs roll in for another school, then reports surface of more schools being considered, it's a sign of a prospect who is uncertain, unsettled or searching for absolute top dollar.

He can do this in whatever way he wants. I hope he joins the Irish because he's a phenomenal talent but I also hope Freeman can find the right 5 star athletes to join ND and keep the cultural fabric intact. Kemon might be a perfect option and potential captain candidate should he join.

Can't help but wonder with both Love and Price leaving, does it make ND more appealing to Spell?

Obviously, NIL and other factors are also significant. But a wide-open lane for him to step in as a freshman on a top-tier team that prioritizes the run seems appealing. Our brawlers on the O-line show up year in and year out.

And with a QB like Carr, who can do real damage throwing, it only enhances the run game. Would be amazing to get this kid.

They were both going to be gone by 27 anyways, and Carr will likely be gone too.

Spell won't be a freshman until fall of '27, no?
Yes. But I must be mixing something up here with Carr.

Won't Carr be a redshirt sophomore fall of '26? So, he'd be a redshirt junior fall of '27?

Yes

I expect 2026 to be Carr’s final college season
Definitely has the talent to head to the NFL soon, that's for sure. Guess I didn't realize that was the consensus expectation. I just assumed (incorrectly, it appears) he would be around for two more seasons.

Good problem to have when our talent leaving early for the NFL is becoming more of the norm

He has a strong chance to be QB1 in the 2027 draft.

All for it, and hope it happens for him and ND. That would be awesome

Of course, I'd prefer for him to stay for two more seasons for ND's sake. But if he indeed becomes the #1 projected QB in the '27 draft, you've got to go.

"The "Parcells 30 start rule" refers to Hall of Fame coach Bill Parcells' stringent guidelines for evaluating college quarterback prospects, emphasizing experience and production, with one key metric being that a QB should have started at least 30 college games, alongside criteria like being a senior, a graduate, and achieving specific win/completion/ratio stats"

Considering who his grandpa was, I bet he knows this rule. I doubt Carr will struggle for money staying in ND. I think he will stay two more years

Over/under 3.5 first round draft picks in 2027 for ND?
Under
Moore 80% (could get Ben Mo'd)
Carr 55% (feel like this a generous percentage)
Shuler 25% (Talk about him leaving this year, could play himself into consideration if ND goes deep)
Jagusah 15% (Scouts love him, but yeah....)
Traore 5% (Will he break out?)
Lambert 5% (5 star recruit, could be the focal point of the line play next year w/o Billy/Wagner and if Jagusah doesn't pop)
KVA 5% (Huge talent but huge injury)
Tae 5% (Rangy long dude who is known to ND fans but could get on a lot of scouts radars when they're watching Moore)

I was thinking the same thing, but after hearing how its ND pushing for the Jerrard reclassification, it seems like the coaches, who are obviously closer to the situation, do not see it the same way.

Only way Moore isn’t a first round pick is if he’s injured. He’s longer, taller, and faster than Ben Morrison. Only reason he doesn’t have the same amount of interceptions is because teams barely ever dare to look his way.

I could see that. On paper, Leonard Moore will most assuredly be one considering his film, athleticism, and physical traits. Barring injury or a really crap season, he should be a lock.

Carr could, Traore might. Then you have a player like Bryce Young (if he really breaks out) who has the physical traits that NFL teams drool over.

Moore, Carr, Jagusah I think are all locks to be first round picks.
