With Rezac’s departure, we don’t even have a walk on or scout team QB it appears. Even with Jarrard as an addition, need a few warm bodies. Him and Buchner also functioned under ST as place holders.

Did the kid from Louisiana graduate? Devezin, I think?

I wonder what the day to day is like for someone like Vernon. The coaches have surely at this point told him that if he wants minutes he needs to get in the portal, but he's just like nah I'm actually here to get my degree and play for Notre Dame.

I think with the 105 roster limits and when you list it out as such you realize some scholarship players basically fill in walk on roles at this point.

Jamie at ISD said Vernon will never play at ND. Apparently he’s just not very good.

Why "5 star" to Zero?: Because "5 star" is something people say you are in high school. It MIGHT mean something later or it might just be a colossal misjudgment (by EVERYONE, not blamed on our staff). Why people continue to make the assumption of "can't miss" boggles me. High school and big time college are two different games.

wonder if he could be the "medical retirement" type

He shows up every day and does what he’s supposed to, as far as we know. It’s not like he’s purposely staying off the field.

Did he have an injury or something? If not, why would you force him out? Ohio State went after him hard when that class showed some cracks, and he was steadfast the whole process.

It’s not an exact science, but is still a good barometer of future success. Stars can’t be completely discredited, but also can’t be completely relied on.

The “hit rate” on 5 stars is astronomically higher than lower rated recruits.

You are basically holding 5 raffle tickets instead of one, so your odds of winning increase.

He has had some injuries. If he loves nd, wants a diploma, and doesnt see a bright playing future, could be possible

Greathouse returning makes it very clear at the position: Get your WR1 no matter the cost. They don’t need to get a capable transfer at the position besides that. Theres enough depth, and they are absolutely retaining him for less than any WR3 or 4 transfer would cost in the portal. Go get Marsh if he’s your guy.

Have GOT to find a kicker.

Recruit Dominic De Freitas from App State. Nappanee IN kid and holds the Indiana HS record for making a 62 yd field goal his senior year.

Was 20-25 this season, so not bad, but not amazing. Only his first year though. Present him with an NIL offer he can't refuse.

There are proven power 4 kickers out there that would love an ND degree. "Not bad" shouldn't be the goal.
