Oh looks Eville is back to bitchingIf ND is back to being cheap it probably makes sense why MF is being floated for all of these other jobs.

With the new hard roster cap, it really might be this. Like, maybe you get the guy on campus and see he isn't likely to be a contributor, so you don't want to pay him like someone in the rotation. If that causes him to leave, its fine, you can use that money to replace him with someone who might still be worth that amount. However, if he is willing to take a massively reduced amount, maybe its worth keeping him around for another year instead of spending more to get another player at that position.it was literally two episodes ago when Sampson said Freeman has an unlimited budget. “He could ask for $30MM and they’d respond what about $40MM? $50MM?”
Brice is either exaggerating or ND is using that as a tactic to process under performing freshman.
Is our NIL run over? Sucks because I thought we were about to go on a run.
Pro tip. If you put your bad takes in the same post, rather than spacing them out by 4 minutes, you’ll get half the amount of downvotes. If ND is back to being cheap it probably makes sense why MF is being floated for all of these other jobs.
That is what I am saying, teams like Texas Tech will ignore it. We will take the haircut. With the new hard roster cap, it really might be this. Holy hell. The amount that ND can pay players is fixed at that cap but the amount the players can receive from private parties is uncapped.
Why would the administration put out to someone like Sampson the idea that they could fund a roster in the 30-50M range? You really think that Mike Martin, Marcus Freeman, and Pete Bevacqua weren't speaking towards NIL in it's sum to players? Likely Bevacqua saying he wants the rev share cap higher is purely from a school perspective of increasing direct payments from the school to the players.
With BPC157, it's like 6 months nowI call bullshit there’s no way we signed the class we just did and it cost less than 20 million. Zero visits or guys going elsewhere. As far as KVA he shouldn’t be needed until the USC or Miami game whichever comes first. Still 9 months for recovery should be plenty of time with today’s technology.
I heard him say we will abide by the 20.5 million cap. That is not for just football either, it is all sports I believe. It would be the most ND thing to do. Have a generational coach and keep a heavy foot on the scale.

Please quit trolling the board with your inane gloom and doom posts. If ND is back to being cheap it probably makes sense why MF is being floated for all of these other jobs.
Let’s get to the real question………
…….Brice really say 1/20th instead of 5%?
Yes... I'm wondering how well the Deloitte-driven oversight group is doing policing the private deals? And, if there have been any issues or violations they're seeing; or, is it just an oversight committee with no real power, not really doing anything.

He did, but I just listened to it again and the way he said it was a bit strange. He says "probably" and then ends it with "I'm not exaggerating."
Brice: "Re-negotiations are happening right now and are a very serious part. It's re-negotiation season right now."
O'Malley: "JB, I want to jump on that. Guys that came in...highly touted Freshman or Freshman at important positions that got paid a lot of money, they have to re-negotiate for less money now. You're definitely not paying your 3rd string player 300K, you're asking him to take a 250K pay cut to stay at ND."
Brice: "Yes. There are Freshman on the Notre Dame roster that are probably being asked to return for 1/10th, 1/15th, 1/20th of what they arrived at ND making. I'm not exaggerating."
It's from about the 33:10-34:10 mark:
It could just be a sign of the new norm,… big schools pay to get kids on campus then cut back until proven otherwise,… I doubt it’s a ND-centric thingSo this is a way to process low performance individuals out? Is ND processing kids? I am cool with it
Yes, Prister even chimed in during this section with something along the lines of “nowadays you want the bottom half your roster to turnover.”So this is a way to process low performance individuals out? Is ND processing kids? I am cool with it
Maybe Blair? Burgess? Burress? Golden?![]()
Who could we have paid $300k that we’d been already pushing off. You’re not paying Joe Reiff $300k to come to ND I’d hope (respectfully).
I'm not sure if the 300K is accurate, but since they whiffed on their top WR targets in the 2025 class, I can see them asking some of the WR's they landed to take a significant discount for year 2. 2025 Defensive Line recruiting wasn't exactly something to brag about, either.![]()

Sneed can come back?
