This Tuesday when asked why Bama moved ahead of ND, Yuracek told Rece Davis that Bama & ND were split in the committee but Bama’s “gutsy 4th down call” seemed to break the tie. So this week, Davis doesn’t bother to re-visit this comparison in light of Bama getting prison sexed by UGA in their CCG?!?! What a failure in journalism. I guess when he threatened to come at the committee w/ “tough“ questions it was only if ND made it in.

Listening to anything any committee member says as though it is true and meaningful is folly. These people lie like they breathe.

So each team got to get in front of the committee to plead their case. Ron Powlus was ND’s rep. He never struck me as particularly bright but he had an ND degree so I give him the benefit of the doubt. Please tell me he was prepped to remind the committee that the CCG are not some additional challenge that, even when losing; doesn’t adversely affect that team and that the fact that those same teams schedule an additional bye via FCS opponents nullifies their claim in most instances (especially when they don’t compete like bama last night). So in summary:

ND 10-2
Bama 9-3

Because if you try to convince me that a win over an FCS opponent counts for anything positive, you’re as much a cuck as Hunter Yuracek.

He was probably told not to ask about that.

The latest ISD podcast is an excellent listen. IMHO, it's the best one post selection day.

Supposedly Driskell bodied Greg Mcelroy on his radio show
I listened to it and I'd somewhat agree. I thought there were even more points to be made to show Greg how absurd the situation was/is but Driskell did a good job not letting Greg act like this was a rounding error. He kept acting like the teams were comparable and everyone who wants to justify it will talk about SOR and SOS. That's it. Driskell acknowledged those two and then refuted them.

I'm not a Driskell guy and don't listen to his shows generally. But McElroy got boom roasted. He introduced yet another data point, "caliber of player", for comparing Auburn and Navy lol. He was arguing semantics and frankly came off like a petulant child. And I liked McElroy. But this was not a good look for him.

Advanced stats can account for that. Auburn is 5-7 but ranked 26, I believe, in Sagarin. Around the same as Pitt, which has a better record. But Bama barely beating Auburn is super impressive, while ND beating Pitt big isn't? Huh?

McElory introduced "caliber of player" on the podcast?
If that's how it works, he needs to hand in his national championship trophy for being the worst player on his team.

He did. Driskell said something like "ND beat two ranked teams, USC and Navy..." McElroy cut him off and said Navy!? We're talking about Navy? And Driskell was like well they're ranked and they are better than Auburn. And McElroy goes off with his brand new caliber of player metric. "You're telling me Navy has the same caliber of player as Auburn?! Totally different caliber of player." And Driskell was basically like what the fuck are you talking about friend?

Now compared any team on NDs schedule caliber of player vs LA-Monroe (that would be Louisiana Monroe, didn't know that was a football program) and Eastern Illinois (also don't know about this program at all).

How dare you besmirch the great Eastern Illinois Panthers, home of Jimmy Garoppolo, Sean Payton, and Tony Romo

Ok, so I have purposely left the insider stuff alone, the Trattou saga wrecked me and I just swore it off for my own health, yeah it’s been that long,… but since the screwing I’ve been listening to podcasts and I’m surprised by something,…

I like locked on well enough, the others are fine but one really stands out as a step or two below, at least in my first couple listens,… what’s the deal with B&G Illustrated?? It’s just feels so much more “two fans in their basement” than the other shows,… is that simply unfair after only a couple listens? What is the general board view on which podcasts are actually ranked where etc??

Singer has been pretty plugged in on the recruiting front, but I'm not sure how plugged in he is about what's going on with players who are currently on the roster.
