After last season are we sure 15 games means much? The team is likely banged up. Risk further injuries. No EE practicing anymore. All for a meaningless game with pro opt outs. Hell I don’t even think I would’ve played Carr, Moore, and starting OL this game. Only risk injuries going into next season. Not like they can still get together and watch film work on strength and technique without pads.
The bowls have lost so much luster unless you’re in desperate need for practice or to get some guys who will be potentially starting the next season some game experience it’s not worth it. In 2023 when Angeli might’ve been the starter for 2024 we needed that sun bowl to get him some game experience. This year it’s more an injury risk than anything else. It’s also not like the BCS/NY6 days where there were still bowl games that felt like they had some shine on them. If you aren’t in the playoffs you’re in the mayo or pop tart bowls. Not really something that seems worth it comparing the risk/reward.

You’re gonna get complaints from talking heads now that ND is babies or spoiled. We are not in 2005 bowl season anymore. The bowls outside the CFP serve zero purpose besides inventory for ESPN when people are off work over the holidays. Don’t get it twisted.
I've seen people saying that UGA and FSU played their bowl game after being left out in 2023, but that was a NY6 bowl, not the fucking Pop Tarts Bowl. People will blame ND for killing bowls now, but the bowls have been dead. No one cares about them. Playoff expansion to 12 killed it because there are now no prestigious non-playoff bowl games.

That said, I still would rather have the practices, but if the team and coaching staff think they're good, then LFG.

Also, the EE's not being able to practice anymore has an impact on that utility.

And that fact, there may be a decent amount of top player opt outs and backups playing (which is not a bad thing).

But those lost practices...

Yeah, I think the toll of the CFP run was a real thing. It felt like a quarter of the team didn't partake in spring ball.

In all honesty, I am on the fence, but in Petie B and MMFF we trust..

I’m in there battling everyone on X. I need help in the comments lads!!
It’s not even Bama fans from what I’m seeing. Lots of IU fans I’ve seen that have gotten too big for their britches. And then Miami fans and just general trolls. There’s no argument and no one is even trying to make one - it’s just “ND deserves this they get special treatment so I’m happy they got put in their place”. Not worth engaging

I am currently fighting with a buddy in a text chain making that argument and yet, when pressed, he can produce no evidence of ND getting special treatment other than we have our own TV deal.

The NCAA. It would be a violation of NCAA rules. The amount of practice allowed and exceptions to the rule are spelled out.
What’ll they do reduce scholarships? Fine. Fuck them. We pay tuition from the gobs of $ we’re about to take in. Fucking corrupt motherfuckers.

I mean I would’ve loved the team to have shown up for the pop tart bowl and instead of going along with the giant pop tart shenanigans cut a heel promo about how pathetic it was to get shafted for a team that lost to Florida State and tell espn what a bunch of fucking jerkoffs they are but it eliminates my reason for watching college football on espn so fuck em! We got the shillelagh trophy, the jeweled shillelagh, the Ireland trophy, & the legends trophy. All of those mean more to this program that the Pop Tart bowl trophy & giving ESPN money after the way they used propaganda to shit on us these last few weeks (and prolly longer)

lol I hate social media. I don’t frequent or post but said screw it. Booger, Danny Kannell, Barstool bama. I don’t follow any of these people but some reason they’re popping up. I must be in the algorithm

It’s a made up talking point. Independence provides us no special treatment and as we’ve seen is a hindrance in a lot of ways in the modern era. But these smooth brains just parrot the talking point and take it as truth.

Your players are paid handsomely to play now. Fucking play. It’s a pussy, whiny move
in my opinion.

I get it. It sucks. ND was undoubtedly a top 12 team. Alabama, OU, Ole Miss, Tulane, James Madison are frauds. Again, it sucks.

But this “take your ball and go home” response is an awful, awful look.

Don’t care. Players just got the rug pulled on them by ESPN. No point in helping them make more money off them.

Man, with all due respect, go to tigerdroppings or something. You're an alright poster, but this isn't really your fight at the moment, bro.
