The freshman kicker was a prized recruiter amongst kickers, right? Are we certain he's a failed project at this point? Imagine you play a golf scramble and you get to 18, your drive hasn't been used all day but the rule is they have to use at least one drive from everybody. And your team is tied or down a hole. That's essentially what's happening to ND's kickers: they haven't been asked to kick anything besides a PAT in six weeks and if ND gets into the playoffs, do we really think there's not going to be kicking situations? And how do you feel as one of those kickers?

Yeah. Why? I thought the future was bright.
But look USC is the rare school from which we have pulled a couple of young undergrad transfers. If there are freshmen worth snagging, hope we try to make it work. A 315-pound formerly-four-star DT would be a nice place to start. Does not appear we recruited him out of high school, unfortunately.

They need to aim higher, and I'm not sure if he could get past Admissions. The 2 guys I hope to see in the portal are CJ Fite from Arizona State and Mateen Ibirogba Wake Forest. Both are projected anywhere from the late 2nd to 5th round.

Half these schools have the players in online classes only during the season nowadays, I think.

Not like they need to actually do any work.
