If Texas beats Texas A&M tomorrow and Bama and Georgia win, then Georgia and Bama play in the SEC championship. If Georgia and Bama play in the SEC championship, there is a good chance the loser will be the 10 seed, behind ND. On the other hand, if Texas AM beats Texas tomorrow and then loses to Bama in the SEC championship, Bama jumps us and we drop a spot. I think they this means we are pulling for Texas tomorrow, right?

I tend to think A&M being undefeated helps our resume. If Bama somehow wins the SEC and jumps us, that's the breaks, but I agree with Pain that it feels unlikely.

Bama losing SEC CCG would be a three loss team with ACC bottom dweller FSU albatross hanging around their neck. They need to win out to make the playoffs in a just world.

If Alabama wins the SEC championship they will jump Notre Dame regardless of who they play.

I think better to hope Alabama loses to Auburn or loses in the SEC championship. Either would keep ND over them.

If I know ESPN & SEC, they’ll point to how ND’s two early losses didn’t prevent them from the benefit of the doubt & improving as the season progressed. They’ll say the same about FSU beating Bama. Difference is ND lost two games to CFP contenders on last possession of each game whereas FSU manhandled Bama.
