Without Allar, no.

You could fire Franklin in a couple of weeks, after Thanksgiving, whatever. The recruiting class, while a priority, has to take a back seat to other things at this point.
they'll beat MSU and Rutgers but got hosed by Iowa, Indiana, OSU and Nebraska

Probally woulda ended up here but we are all full

If he's interested again do we make room? I'm inclined to say no, kick rocks. It goes back to: "More Carrs, less Moores." for me. I want guys that are committed to ND and unwavering.
Does it make sense to fire Franklin mid-season and lose all of your recruits?

From a recruit standpoint I dunno. From a future standpoint Penn State is getting in early as the top destination possibly in the next Coaching Carousel. I'm not sure what coach currently on the hot seat would have a more attractive location. Michigan might be the only one where the seat could be warm and it would be a better job.

It does if you don't want him to coach the program anymore.

What happens if PSU catches lightning in a bottle, Franklin wins the rest of the way (including with wins against OSU and IU), and wins a bowl game to go 10-3? How do you fire him if that happens?

Leave nothing for tomorrow that can be done today.

Fong’d to Oklahoma.

PSU isn’t gonna have a single top 300 player when this is said and done. Sucks to be bad and broke

Their GM who has been with Franklin since Vandy is already at Va Tech. Basically all of their off field staff are no longer with the program.

When I see what has happened to PSU since they fired the Black Brian Kelly, I'm so glad we had Marcus Freeman there waiting in the wings when the White James Franklin ditched us. The wheels could have fallen off quickly and we could have been right back to square one.

Yup I’ve seen a lot of “good riddance” from PSU fans on Franklin’s staffers following him but the alternative is they all could have stayed, worked hard for PSU as a program through NSD to get the class over the hump and then left after. Doesn’t seem to be the case. If the recruit and staff exodus is followed by a player exodus, I would imagine that tune changes.

It will be interesting to see how much/little raiding of the Harrisburg kids Franklin will be able to do moving forward.

One I'd keep an eye on is Tony Rojas. He retweeted this commitment, posted a ton of pro-Franklin stuff after the firing, and he's from VA.

Would be a huge get.

Wait, so Fong threw down a CB last week and he committed elsewhere a few days later. I’ve rarely seen that. I always thought when Wiltfong chimes in it’s all but done. Something to think about after the prediction on Spell.

Big miss, Messiah should be scoring in the shadow of Touchdown Jesus. Plus he's obviously Mickens' son.
