I never said freeman lied, and I don’t think he did. Freeman said gray was a little banged up and they needed to get him right. Everyone is banged up that plays as much as he does. He absolutely could have played the last 2 games but wasn’t needed. He did need to get right, but get mentally right was the biggest issue.
It’s obvious what ash began doing much more of after the first series for Pitt to protect the field a bit. Gray got smoked first series and Pitt should have had a td. Luckily their wr dropped it. It’ll be interesting to see if ash does more of that or saves it vs teams with more than one good wr.

I coach at a Catholic high school that is a college sports feeder. Our basketball team two years ago finished #1 in the country, for my team we had 9 seniors sign this week. A lot of our recruiting is done at offseason showcases. A top piece of advice that we give them is "do not play if you are less than 100%" at a showcase for your club team or prospect day because coaches are going to evaluate what they see without context.
Gray battling through injuries to give his all for the team in key games and having randos on the internet act like he is trash underscored this for me. A selfish player would have shut it down for the year with his shoulder injury. He has like 3 separate injuries that all impact his ability to play corner. He's an extremely good college football player and has a realistic shot to make a roster in the NFL if healthy. The only thing fans should be saying is "thank you."

Exactly and you would expect a guy who played CB in the big ten to understand this stuff about playing hurt how it limits you but you know you have a true freshman behind you and you give the team the best chance to win to gut it out.

You're trying to slither out of shitting on the character of an ND player by changing your reasoning, which is pathetic. Getting beat is losing a rep, not a sign of effort. Getting help is a sign of play, not effort.
I'm not sure how you approach dishonesty, but if you say someone is sitting because they were hurt and it caused them to play worse, when they are really sitting because of a lack of effort.... that's lying. So, yeah... you are saying MF was lying about this situation. He didn't say, we have to get him "right", he said he's hurt and his technique was suffering because of injury, not get him "right". That is a skill issue, not a will issue.

He’s so far from an extremely good college player. He’s an average P4 corner at best when he’s at his best.
I had no problem with gray with effort until usc 25, he flat out gave up effort and focus wise that night. Banged up or not, no excuse. At least in 2024 he was battling but just getting beat. This year, His injuries were so bad he miraculously went from not being able to play on Nov 8th, to not even being on an injury report nov 10th!!! It’s so obvious they wanted to mentally re set him. Because, even though he’s not great, he’s better than Zackery and Hobbs and ND needs him to be serviceable.
Hahaha you just are full of shit I played at uw-platteville I don't hide behind some bullshit of a hidden school and who I am my last name is in my handle. Also last year when you almost got banned it was for freeman not being a good coach and riding pretty much the coattails of Golden. Where is that narrative now buddy?
