A bit, sure, but we've handed five of our last six opponents their lowest scoring game of the season, including Arkansas which averages 35 points a game in the SEC, and NC State which averages 33.
We've played 5 top 25 opponent adjusted offenses under the FEI metric. Plus Navy who is 35th. Boise State is 57th. Purdue and BC are 80th and 86th, respectively. That's a strong slate of offenses.

While I agree that Ash has gotten better at his play calling, I would argue that most of the improvement in the defense is because our players are no longer confused or uncertain.

Those first two games were filled with players that were uncertain. As a result they played timid, even when Ash’s play calling was more aggressive.

If we lose to Pitt, it will be because of whoever changed the thread title to "Gangsta Gangsta". You clearly do not respect jinxes and other superstition, the blood is on your hands. Now I will change the title back and can any IE members in Louisiana go find a witch doctor or equivalent?

I got this covered.

I have some white sage in the garden. I’ll do a purification ritual later by burning some of that followed by opening a beer with the ND bottle opener that plays the ND fight song. I will then chug said beer after which I will burn a picture of Narduzzi.

You know, I was worried about Pitt, but not anymore!

Zero, imo. They’ve played way better offenses this year, compared to last year.
Nobody seemed to bring that up when Golden was DC. The 2024 schedule was largely a complete joke of offenses
Yeah, people still have an emotional attachment to Golden are slow to change their opinion on Ash. Some people will nitpick everything the defense does under Ash in a way I don't recall seeing last year or the year before with Golden.

Al Golden better more his Bengals job work because he ain’t gonna get his old job back. We’ll see if he is made the scapegoat for how awful the Cincy D is. He could probably get a nice buyout and open. skyline Chili restaurant back here in South Bend! Maybe a drive thru!?

If you think the defense is good now it should be even better next year. The entire secondary returns, plus you had the best DB class in a long time, every LB returns I think Sneed has one more year no idea what he does, every DE returns minus Bothelo, your biggest losses are Onye, Dawson and Rubio.

Wasn't Onye making noises recently about trying to come back for another year? No idea if he can - there are no rules at this point anyway - but if he somehow could, that would be huge for our interior DL. Feels like Rubio has also missed more time than he has played, but...

I think he’s doing a great job for sure, I just want to see a bit more evidence that our D can handle and attack strong offenses, starting this Saturday with Pitt (not even sure how good their O is but I know the freshman QB is doing well), but especially against better teams in the CFP games, e.g., IU, Ole Miss, TAMU (take 2), and OSU. I do think USC a few weeks ago was strong evidence of his improvement and D’s stoutness.
