Josh died on Christmas day 2018. For some reason that has always stuck with me

I dont think they had an easy upbringing due to their father tbh. Didn't George Senior have a bunch of kids and a good few of them were all called George? Dude probably had CTE from his playing days himself

Factor in George was committed I believe due to depression stemming from their mother's death and Josh's death two months after their mom died... I can only imagine how George felt living without both of them.

I looked at Sr’s wiki & you‘re right…had a bunch of kids (only one named George…maybe you’re thinking of George Foreman?) but sounds like all were with his wife who Gower referenced & he continued to work in & around football. We have no idea how they were raised though and his old school mentality may have led to his boys playing through concussions. It didn’t state the cause of George Sr’s death.

Definitely a tragic end to that family, you feel for those around them. It was crazy to see Josh and their mother go so close, and then GA III not terribly long after. All too young.

The mother suffered from serious mental illness. As far as I can tell, George Sr. was the most stable member of the family by a long shot.

yeah she suffered from paranoid schizophrenia and then developed a drug addiction and had Crohn's disease on top of that. She used to physically assault her kids and police got involved. Was then institutionalized and the twins ended up with an uncle before going to live with their father. One of the reasons Josh took his own life was that he felt guilty he and his brother were the ones who had to make the decision to take their mother off life support when she was in a coma. Just insanely tragic stuff. An article George wrote before taking his own life is extremely poignant
