Apparently MF being pursued by PSU per Cowterds show today. Anyone hear anything that would corroborate this?

So if Urban to PSU then Ash to PSU as DC?
Can't compare rosters and expectations of Northwestern vs PSU0-7 vs Ohio State.
5-7 vs Michigan
The only coaching search Cowherd would have any intel on is USC.Apparently MF being pursued by PSU per Cowterds show today. Anyone hear anything that would corroborate this?
I think Zac Taylor is done in Cincy and that would free up Golden again in this hypothetical. And that leaves us stuck with Knowles.
If Buffalo has another good season and Allen puts up MVP tier stats again, Joe Brady will have NFL teams calling him.View attachment 3060570
Brady must have made quite an impression as a two year GA under Franklin.
The good news for Joe Brady is that he doesn't have to deal with recruiting as much in this new era as he did in 2019 with LSU.
This one seems like a stretch to me.
I can’t stand this framing - yeah, of course they’d “pursue” one of the most charismatic young coaches in the sport. There’s zero risk in saying “Penn State is pursuing (xyz person)” because a call to an agent qualifies as a pursuit. Doesn’t mean there’s anything actually going on.Apparently MF being pursued by PSU per Cowterds show today. Anyone hear anything that would corroborate this?
He’s been using ND as fodder for engagement farming since his early ESPN days. Whether he’s complimenting the Irish or bashing them, he knows it drives viewers/listeners & clicks. The only coaching search Cowherd would have any intel on is USC.
And the reason Cowherd is sowing that fodder this week is bc it’s Fusc week. Anything to attempt to create some chatter and derision in the ND camp. He’s been using ND as fodder for engagement farming since his early ESPN days. Update 10/15/25: Checking in with a quick Wednesday afternoon note just to reiterate there remains a sustained sense that Matt Rhule is the most likely result here, as of where things stand right now. That's not to say anything is inevitable or that there aren't several other avenues being explored with other head coaches and coordinators across college football and the NFL. More just to say that if we were setting some kind of betting odds right now, Rhule would be ahead of the pack, and probably by a solid margin.
Here's what I learned about Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer, who will be added to our Hot Board on Thursday...
Locally down there, there hasn't been much buzz about Penn State pursuing him. Locally here, there is some notable smoke.
In checking in with some folks who are well-connected and well-informed on the Crimson Tide, feedback indicates it has been a "weird fit" for DeBoer and Alabama. Obviously, losing five of his first 14 games on the job after replacing an absolute legend wasn't an ideal introduction and there was a ton of backlash from that community after an ugly 2025 opener at Florida State
Though he's now won five in a row, with three straight versus ranked teams, and has Alabama back up to a No. 6 national ranking, we're told results across the remaining SEC schedule "are going to determine a lot" regarding his standing in Tuscaloosa. Those matchups include three ranked opponents (#10 LSU, #10 Tennessee, #14 Oklahoma) along with trips to South Carolina and Auburn.
So there's clear potential for picking up multiple more losses if current momentum doesn't sustain. The Tide's current CFB culture certainly isn't accustomed to seeing 3+ losses in a regular season, much less in consecutive years. Thus, I'm told that a potential opportunity at Penn State could represent "about as good of an off-ramp for both sides as possible".
However, if DeBoer stacks up wins down the stretch and puts Alabama in the playoff, the idea of him leaving Tuscaloosa for a non-NFL head coach position seems pretty slim.
Prior to his attempt to fill Saban's shoes, DeBoer led Washington to a 25-3 record across two seasons, including a National Championship Game appearance in the 2023 CFP. He coached in the Big Ten back in 2019 as Indiana's offensive coordinator/QBs. The Hoosiers ranked 3rd among B1G teams in offense that season and DeBoer has a strong track record of success on that side of the ball at various stops and levels.
DeBoer is considered a strong culture-builder, managing to get across a consistent message of accountability and competitiveness through a relatively calm demeanor that extends to the sideline on game days. He's the kind of leader, and possesses the kind of staff ties and player rapport, that could contribute to a seamless transition toward quick title contention in State College (that's the outlook, at least).
The 50-year-old has a salary of $10.25 million. We're told his contract features a relatively "tiny" buyout for taking another job.
We'll keep working to track down intel here, but we've heard enough to add him to the Hot Board on Thursday. Pat Kraft is casting a pretty wide net, as expected, but there seems to be some primary names emerging with more buzz than others. Based on what we've heard, DeBoer is one who is trending enough that it warrants monitoring moving forward.
That's what I'm thinking, and there is already one opening as of now. There are likely going to be more as there usually is.If Buffalo has another good season and Allen puts up MVP tier stats again, Joe Brady will have NFL teams calling him.
Franklin was 3-7 vs Michigan. Fitz got to 5-7 at Northwestern against Michigan. Can't compare rosters and expectations of Northwestern vs PSU
Cignetti just got PAID
A lot of money for a guy who relies on the portal and can’t recruit out of HS. Surely that strategy has never backfired in recent memory.

LOL.
This is awesome. The blue bloods are so screwed. Thank goodness ND decided to get their act together.
Honestly, I'm loving this.
For that kind of change a couple of B1G titles and deep playoff runs at a minimum.I mean if you don't think Cignetti has demonstrated proof of concept, I just don't know what else he needs to do.
