I really hate misleading headlines that are little more than click bait. My current annoyance is those that mention a celebrity and their cause of death. You click on the article only to find it says, "No cause of death has been given yet." Then STFU and stop with the headlines that absolutely imply you're about to announce in the article. I just saw one about Redford that did exactly that.

Tailgaters. If I’m in the passing lane but there’s 3 cars and a semi in front of me, how is riding my ass gonna help anything? You can tell the chronic tailgaters. They usually have a piece of the front bumper blowing in the wind from rear ending too many cars.

1000%. Every time I see somebody riding my ass, I want to mansplain to them that it DOES NOT MATTER if you're going 55 mpg 5 feet from my rear bumper or 30 ft from my rear bumper. You will get to your location in the same amount of time either way.

People just see empty spaces in lanes and assume if they get as close to the next vehicle in front of them, they'll get there faster. Never mind how much more danger you're putting yourself and others in by severely limiting your reaction time and visibility.

Drives me insane.

I'm not sure if those guys are worse or the ones who insist on taking six miles to pass someone and only speed up if there is an F150 grill crawling through their back window. Equal but opposite ends of the a-hole driver spectrum.

The tailgating thing is super annoying when it's heavy traffic. Things are flowing but pretty much bumper to bumper,... like, 'where do you want me to go, dude??' Even if I risk my life by switching lanes, congrats, you moved up maybe thirty feet. When it's that heavy, you'll get there when you get there.

Semi drivers that will cut you off to pass another semi, but wait until they are 4-5 lengths in front of the semi before moving back over.

I believe it’s the younger generation but I know most of us are guilty of doing this but boy do some folks use the word “like” too much. I‘ve heard some use it in every sentence. They need to listen to record themselves & listen back. “You know” is another crutch but I think the word “like” has surpassed it in today’s lexicon.

I'd be willing put up with a thousand linguistic pet peeves if I were simply allowed to shoot anybody starting a sentence with "I mean" without elucidating a previous thought.

”I mean” is about to be surpassed by “So….” when starting a sentence.

I stand by my original post, nothing is used as a crutch as much as the word “like” in 2025. Start listening for it & take a shot every time you hear it. You’ll be dead in an hour.

I'm fully aware. We're just bothered by different things. Possibly in part because I'm GenX and your pet peeve is GenX speech, while I'm bothered by the speech of younger generations.

I’m probably older than you bro. I’m firmly positioned as a GenX’er. It’s not the GenXers that I hear overusing the word “like” it’s the millenials & GenZ

Agreed but I can live w/ that as long as they maintain efficient & correct ordering. Whoever trains those employees should try to do the same w/ gov’t employees. Can you imagine if CFA employees worked the DMV? I’d never dread getting my DL renewed.
