Job accomplished..

Defense is still weak AF especially on the line & secondary.

Carr was the right choice.

Our RBs are elite.

Let’s hope we continue to get better.

Arkansas lost to Memphis today but it will still be a tough environment & a bigger test.. Let’s see.

Yes, D still needs to get better, but made a few strides to improve. Actually saw some 2nd half pressure and sacks. We just need to improve a little bit each week until we’re slaying opponents by the final 3 games.

Scheduled opponents not helping too much in our quest to impress CFP committee, so we will need to get a lot better on D and truly pummel some opponents by season’s end.

Defense tightened in the second half fwiw. Could have been 70-23 if we stayed on the gas.
At this point we can’t afford not to collect style points. Our offense on first string did that but our D still outside of top 25 and certainly not playoff worthy. So what part did Marcus play this week with the D? Too many bad 3rd down and long conversions. Just get rid of ash especially if the players don’t like him and hand the reigns over to Mickens and mentor him. Freeman is not as good a DC as Golden was.

Carr is already very, very good and I could see him being elite soon. He has a beautiful touch on his passes, particularly deep balls. We're in excellent hands there.

An embarrassment of riches at RB. Both are elite.

Overall, I thought the OL played pretty well. Mostly gave Carr time to process and opened up holes for the RBs.

I feel good about our WRs.

Now, the defense, a tale of two halves.

The first half was a calamity; they couldn't get any pressure on Browne and receivers were consistently wide open for him.

I thought they looked transformed when Shuler got back on the field. They harassed Browne and I thought the coverage was much better...though still room to improve.

More of that going forward, please.

Still think this is a pretty damn good team. Two narrow losses to what appear to be very good teams and they woke up and took care of business today even with a ridiculous two hour delay that could disrupt a lot of teams.

Onward...

You can’t worry or think about the CFP. You just need to go win every week and that’s it.

Freeman certainly took the reins in the second half, don’t we all agree? I’m sure they won’t admit it.

It certainly feels that way. Purdue put up 23 first half, then just 1 TD against our backups in the final garbage time series. Ash is trash.

Not only do I think about the CFP, but so do you, or you would've been unable to construct this thought. And if there is something you do do, it's certainly something you can do.

As to winning ND football games, that is something we definitely cannot do. Or at least I cannot. Maybe some of you guys are actually suiting up for the Irish, but I couldn't pass a physical.
