Not to defend $20 one way or the other, but with Always Irish you have two former players breaking down the All 22 film.
Not sure if other sites are doing that or not.

Does Jamie U. do that? I actually am considering subbing to ISD bc I like Jamie so much on the pods.

He took the defense to midfield and addressed them. I don’t know if ND had production people intentionally filming/recording or if it was just a hot mic that picked up his motivational speech. He was basically telling them that Miami can have their turnover chain b/c he wants a damn ring. And then they got embarrassed on the field.

But I’ve heard two other background stories on that game in regards to offense. One was from the Miami HC at the time, Mark Richt. He had been quoted that had Wimbush hit that big throw early on for a long TD that he thinks it would’ve been a ball game. If you recall, Wimbush overthrew a wide open Eq St. Brown.

The other story I heard on one of the ND pods (I think the Independent). It described Wimbush going up to his coach & telling hIm he couldn’t make the short pass in pregame warmups. Basically, he had the yips again so when the coach went to inform BK he didn’t sound surprised. They had to take out approximately half the offensive playbook. I had never heard that until a week or so ago.

I'd be happy to listen to Hyde if I was paid $20/hr. Yeah, the price tag does sound a bit steep, but what does $20 really buy you these days? A Happy Meal with a wind-up Hamburglar?

Yeah Fortuna made that comment about Wimbush having the yips last week which was brand new info to me

Unnecessarily lame tweet. First you’re minimizing our own win last year. Second Miami has only won 10+ games twice since 2004.

Also, the game control against A&M was more friendly for subs/personnel changes, even if it WAS still a close game.

Miami was also a weird game in terms of possessions and opportunities, in general. Was not even a good script to try and force Love’s involvement, let alone getting more than the necessary frosh involved

It brought up one interesting thought for me though. We know that many of our frosh are very good athletes and to-be-good players. Not playing any of them tells me (maybe) that the staff believes that we are loaded everywhere at least two deep ahead of them. Since we did not win at Miami, does that mean that the staff has really mis-guessed on several of our more experienced personnel, or was Miami just that good, or were some that did play really off their games for some reason?

The biggest reason we lost was probably the OL, which is the last place you want to play a true freshman (realizing that we started a true freshman OL in Week One last year of course).

I guess one could argue for Will Black but mostly I’d guess the staff simply feels like the best players to play on Monday were the guys who spent last season taking us to the championship game, not the guys who spent last season in high school.

Coming out of fall camp, outside of corner/nickal, what freshman was being talked about as busting into the lineup, especially in a tight game?

Most thought Flanigan woudl play due to injuries/lack of depth at TE. Several players were mentioned as guys talented enough to start or play significant minutes on some of Kelly’s ND teams, but won’t see the field much this year b/c of the roster is better overall - Nolan James, Burress, Faraimo, Burgess, maybe a couple more I'm missing.

Clark has gotten worse the bigger his place “voice” in sports media has gotten. He was best in spots on SVP.

I’m a subscriber. I like their film breakdowns and message boards. Only complaint is John Kennedy and Mike Goolsby can go on some unhinged rants that aren’t really productive. When Goolsby is focused on a topic he is great.

Hyde does a great job. Has to be awkward for Singer and On3 seeing their former employees doing their own thing now.

If John Kennedy is who I think he is, his voice is completely unlistenable for me.

Enjoyed listening to Jamie U’s analysis on ISD’s post game pod. Really wish Mike Frank would step aside or switch roles w/ Greg Flammang. I enjoy the analysis & film room dissection by Jamie & Greg. Mike brings nothing to the table for me.

Feel like Mike offers a good macro perspective on the program as a whole and CFB. Jamie's more micro and into the Xs and Os. I'm not sure what Greg's niche is but he gets along well with the guys and I appreciate his hit and hustle when the game weeks are long.

I don’t. He turns every decent point into a monologue but he’s really just saying the same thing over & over again. You can tell Jamie is adept at correcting him w/ a soft touch & then MF of course agrees with him.

Mike’s really good at monologuing about how he’s been warning people for months about whatever issue is currently facing Notre Dame football.
