Sorry to hear this. Prayers sent your way. While this may appear to be daunting, You'll find a way. Just remember that you're not alone in this effort. Don't be afraid to get support from both sets of grandparents. Especially her parents. They may not have said anything, but I suspect they have a fear of not seeing the grandson since they lost their daughter.
You nailed a lot. Her parents were very concerned and have reached out letting us know they are here not just for Bron but me too which is huge. I want him to have as much loving family in his life as possible.

Oof. Hate seeing my parents get older. Younger me thought that your parents dying before you being "the natural order" meant that it would hurt less. Seeing my parents becoming old has made me realize that's just a comforting lie I told myself and that it's probably going to be one of the most terrible things imaginable when it happens. Hopefully we still have a decade or more, just have to enjoy the ride with them.

Sorry to say that it is horrible. No matter the manner.

It sucks man. Took me over three years before I stopped randomly crying.

took the youngest into his class for his first day. I cried harder than he did when I heard “don’t leave me!” I’m drinking early.

Drop off crying is horrible. Feels cruel but I basically sprint away from my kid and out of the room because I know the second I leave he'll calm down.

He’s daddy’s boy. My wife hugged him bye and walked out. He had a lock on my leg like he was glued to it.

It might sound crazy, but I really miss those drop off days. Looking back on it, I realize how much I mattered to my little ones. At that stage you really are their whole world. The other end of the spectrum makes it all worth it too. The way they light up when you pick them up is an amazing feeling.

My daughter is going through it now and I try to remind her to cherish these moments. They don’t last long.

Once you have kids you realize that Harry Chapin really said it all in “Cats in the Cradle.” I well up every damn time.

It's a few minutes long, but worth every minute. My wife found It hilarious.

I have lived on that Matrix.

I'm fully aware that I may be the problem. This could possibly the most telling insight into Fbolt you'll find here outside of my general dislike for people.

man this song messes me up so much.
Even when I was a kid it messed me up.
Then when I was an adult and found out Chapin died at 38 and his son was like 9?
Brutal song for me to process.

I have lived on that Matrix. Currently in it with a cray cray gal and previously had my truck keyed with another. The morning I walked out and saw my truck keyed I just laughed. Small price to pay to get out of that one.

1. When I went to file the police report I asked the officer if her husband, who is a cop, would find out who filed. Doh!
2. I was pulled over with her once with expired registration. I had been out of the country for the last few months and told the officer that (yes, hoping to get out of the ticket-but true). The officer asked, what about her? I laughed and said, "oh, you think this is my wife? That's someone else's wife". That had the cop laughing and it did get me out of the ticket.

I'm fully aware that I may be the problem.

You should grab the car and do doughnuts in the school parking lot, claiming a misunderstanding afterward.

Well had no idea Granger had twin boys...really proud of my boys who are avid soccer players. One twin right now is spending his Jr year of HS in Italy playing soccer getting exposure...their field where they train and play home games is right next to St Peters Basilica at the Vatican.
