Someone in this thread actually said coaches put too much weight on performance at practice. Before anyone has played in a game. We’re in mid season form Lads, gameday threads are going to be off the charts with that level of input!! Let’s Gooooo!!!!!

The only thing I'm certain of is that we'll see both qbs at some point this season. Both will have an opportunity to stake their claim on it in game. And it'll be the best reality tv we've ever seen...

Drills in practice, compared to major scrimmages and mentioned some people game better than practice drills 🙄

The person who said Kenny is most likely starting mentioned CJ was awful in basically breakdown simulation type drills, while Kenny wasn’t.

Not doubting your friend said that, but our defense should be improved this year. We upgraded our MLB, and got a new DC. Having an improved secondary will help our rush D out too I think.

You guys have one of the best running games in the country so it’ll be a tough test, but I wouldn’t say Miami’s run D isn’t very good

I mean, neither of them has ever experienced anything like what they're going to walk into here - the noise, the heat, the speed of it all - and you can't really simulate that in the Blue and Gold game or whatever sterile camp scrimmage you might hold. But if you try to re-create the chaos of live action when things go sideways, and one guy freezes up and the other doesn't, you might weigh that more than who throws a prettier ball if you're trying to decide who's going to start at night game at Miami in two weeks.

that is exactly what Freeman did in that one magnificent special team play against Georgia.

Didn't the Patriots consistently manipulate injury reports during their dynasty run for this very reason?

Kenny looks to me like he is going to throw at ankles a good bit. Was that him in the latest practice footage that threw one at Aneyas's knees that he then dropped?

To be fair, our QB play has been pretty up and down for the last 10-15 years so we don't have a ton of great examples of guys that played lights out in the fall that stunk it up in the spring game. Plus, some of the ones that played well at times like Leonard ended up missing the spring anyway.

Sneaking a guy into the punt formation and staging weeks of subterfuge over who will be your starting quarterback are not really the same thing.

Like I’ve said before whoever is named QB 1 both guys are gonna play this year and maybe they both deserve to. We might need to see both in an actual game to decide whose the best
