The fact the comment came from "FireJeffQuinn" makes your comeback even better.Did he smell of Doritos and have a backpack full of mountain dews?

Whoever is QB2 do they stick around or transfer out?
Hunger Games - Golden Dome edition.I heard they die, executed right then and there
Neither can save a year of eligibility by sitting out. They would hit the portal in December.Whoever is QB2 do they stick around or transfer out?

Which is what I prefer Carr if they are neck and neck. One more year of eligibility and a higher upside.Neither can save a year of eligibility by sitting out. They would hit the portal in December.
The team is too talented this year to be thinking like this.Which is what I prefer Carr if they are neck and neck. One more year of eligibility and a higher upside.
If it really is too close to call, the tie will always go to the the player with the higher upside. The team is too talented this year to be thinking like this.
If ND is a top 10 team for back to back years neither player should play more than two years. Eligibility doesn't matter. Carr/Minchey should not be the starter in 2027. If that's the case then something went very wrong.Which is what I prefer Carr if they are neck and neck. One more year of eligibility and a higher upside.
Stick around for the season, of course. Transferring now you just waste a year, and don't get to hear the chants of your name after the other guy throws his first pick.Whoever is QB2 do they stick around or transfer out?
ND could pay to keep him around. LSU did it with Nussmeier heading into the 2023 season.Stick around for the season, of course. Transferring now you just waste a year, and don't get to hear the chants of your name after the other guy throws his first pick.
As for what happens in December, that likely depends whether Minchey leads us to an undefeated season, wins the Heisman, and is projected as a Top 10 pick in April's draft, or not.

If you look at the winners of the NC who won and those that had the chance of returning that actually stayed, it was only Stetson Bennett who returned. In his junior season Hurts lost the job and then transferred so he wasn't going to be drafted highly if he was the backup for his junior season. If you win it you're going to go pro.We could win back to back championships, but that doesn't mean the starting quarterback is a top 15 pick. If that's the case, they make more money staying in school now. I wouldn't be shocked to see CJ start three or even four years.
First World ProblemsImagine arguing about this when we don't even know who will be playing

CJ Carr should not and would not stay if ND won the NC in 2025 or 2026. He has the measurables and would be the face of a championship winning blue blood. He already has national name recognition. Carson Beck had people pegging him as a high 1st round pick after one good year at UGA.
If Will Howard had another year of eligibility he’d be back at Ohio State instead of being a sixth-round draft pick.If you look at the winners of the NC who won and those that had the chance of returning that actually stayed, it was only Stetson Bennett who returned. 100% agree on JJ. His draft hype was baffling. If Will Howard had another year of eligibility he’d be back at Ohio State instead of being a sixth-round draft pick.
I will go to my grave not understanding why anyone thought JJ McCarthy was worth a top 10 draft pick. I suspect the Vikings will realize same.
Stetson Bennett

Mac Jones was solid and the #15 draft pick. He had eligibility left but also spent four years at Alabama.
Then you’re back into the Burrows/Tua/Lawrence years. Those guys were obviously legit.
It can go either way, point being. And NIL changes the math. If you’re good enough to win a lot of college football games but don’t measure out as a first round pick, a program like ours will compensate you quite well, I would think.
If you win the NC at ND your brand and profile will alone get you into the first round unless you’re Ian Book measurables. Carson Beck had one singular good season and was already talked about being a top pick. The point remains that someone who’s young and carries the pedigree of CJ Carr who won an NC at ND would absolutely be viewed as a 1st rounder. If Will Howard had another year of eligibility he’d be back at Ohio State instead of being a sixth-round draft pick.

Did NIL keep JJ at Michigan? Don’t think anyone here was singing his praises and he won an NC and got drafted highly based on perception and profile. How many of these were before NIL?
I think we're going to see a lot of guys stay in school if they aren't projected top 15.
Not sure I understand your logic here. The team is too talented this year to be thinking like this.
If it really is too close to call, the tie will always go to the the player with the higher upside.
If they have similar upside, the tie will always go to the player with more eligibility.
This shouldn't be shocking.
How does this still get laughs? It is up there with "spit on that thaang" in terms of old and boring joke.Moved to dt

After seeing those new Vikings cheerleaders I think pretty much anything is fair game. Are we really letting this go unchecked?
