He’s likely going to play, but he won’t be the second best WR on the team by the end of the year.
Anything could happen with the ND wide receiver room. The lads "betting" and saying "will" or "wont" in their projections one way or another are blow hards if you ask me.
We've had at least 5 years or predictions being slapped in the face with that room. Merriweather was a guarantee. Styles year 2 was a guarantee. Two years ago our best WR was a walk on nobody had heard of at this stage of the year. Last year that fella we got from Clemson was being raved about in practice. Then you had Greathouse last year play ordinary for 13 games and like a first-round draft pick for the semifinal and final.
It is a coin toss and anyone betting is just pretending to have gonads.

Absolutely. Nothing is guaranteed and anything is possible.

That said, a lot would need to happen for Burress to become the second best WR by years end. And I assume NDFan2008 meant statistically.

It’s a hot-take from him and warrants all the smoke.

Carr was running with the 2s in this
Doesn't really mean anything, because Carr and Minchey have been switching between 1st team and 2nd team each practice. So he more than likely the next day was practicing with the 1s.

The world where Burress plays heavy competitive is Faison and Pauling both show to be really slot WRs (which they are) and Burress is the current best true X on the roster. You can see it if you squint but I still believe in Faison really locking that spot down.

You have essentially three proven talents in Fields/Pauling/Greathouse. Then you have a promising player in Faison and the #1 TE in Raridon. He needs to jump one of those 5. Since 2020 Denbrock has only had one true freshman finish in the top 5 in receiving yards, which was a TE for LSU in 2022.

The sudden Burress intrigue is getting interesting. He is know as a smart, great route runner who excels at getting separation. These are excellent traits for any receiver to have yet alone a D1 true frosh. He is known to have great traits in man coverage and good short area quickness/change in direction. So ready to see all the new wrs. Think the whole unit will be much better than the 2024 version.

The first thing I would do to get open as a receiver is never wear deodorant and maybe smear myself in the smell of dog Shyte pregame.
