You have essentially three proven talents in Fields/Pauling/Greathouse. Then you have a promising player in Faison and the #1 TE in Raridon. He needs to jump one of those 5. Since 2020 Denbrock has only had one true freshman finish in the top 5 in receiving yards, which was a TE for LSU in 2022.
Faison is a proven talent.

You're smoking the purest form of meth. Heisenberg shit if you think that true freshman Elijah Burress will pass Jaden Greathouse. There is no rational basis whatsoever to make this claim. Not in their recruiting rankings. Not in their spring or fall camp performances. Nothing to suggest that he could pass Greathouse at any point.

Let's do a wager - if Burress finishes within the top 4 in either receptions or receiving yards mods can IP ban me, if he doesn't same penalty for you. Hell, I'll do you one better, if Burress finishes as #5 in either category 3 month ban for me.

Agree?

Bitcoin, I will give him 100,000 bitcoins.

What if he does the exact same thing Greathouse himself did last year? Not that much for the first 3/4 of the season and then really turned it on the last quarter.

Love Greathouse, but this is a classic example of what have you done for me lately—for Greathouse, it’s a lot.

Greathouse was universally considered too slow to be great WR as a recruit and even going into last year. He apparently had a great Sprung and Fall but dropped a key ball very early and then the passing game disaappeared. He had less than 600 and 4 TDs in the longest season ever.

He showed up in a huge way in the playoffs and now we’re talking like he’s Tate or Floyd. Maybe he’ll remain at his level, but there was a year in half where no one would have made that argument. Not sure he’s the kind of player no freshman could ever surpass.

Again, love him. He’s a warrior.

I do think the Greathouse love has to be simmered down a bit. However, let's just say he is like 75-80% as productive as he was in those games. That is still a really good number 2 WR if Fields is the guy reports are saying. I actually think some of our WRs are being overrated. But when you add the transfers and Gilbert/Burress/Williams as potential players...there is a lot to like

He’s not been like Tate or Floyd, yet a play like he made against PSU can make that light come on and they realize their true potential.

There's a practice scrimmage tonight, right? I know no media access but curious if we can get some leaks tonight for how it went
Media does have the first 4 periods today but im not sure if its a day practice or an evening practice. Highly unlikely they get to watch them scrimmage unfortunately.

The sudden Burress intrigue is getting interesting. He is know as a smart, great route runner who excels at getting separation. These are excellent traits for any receiver to have yet alone a D1 true frosh. He is known to have great traits in man coverage and good short area quickness/change in direction. So ready to see all the new wrs. Think the whole unit will be much better than the 2024 version.
Known? He hasn’t played 1 single snap of live college football. The only thing that is known is he is on the roster and participating in practice. This is crazy. Listening to all this really shows how some of your heads work.

Last season the Micah Gilbert train was rolling to him being a huge part of the rotation and it didn't happen. Not saying burress won't play and he might be great but we have nothing to base that off of no one has had any access to these practices

THe buzz with Gilbert died off in fall camp last off-season, it was much stronger in the spring.

I didn't say he was known for any of this as a D1 receiver. As I stated in my post "for a Dl true frosh". He is known for this with his film review in high school. Of course, he hasn't played any college football yet. Check out his recruit film review and watch some highlights.

It's hard to say how any of the receivers will or will not be after last year considering we didn't throw a ton last year and we weren't especially good at it when we did.

Apparently Guerby been working in a lot at guard, getting a good look there.
Nolan James hype train is gearing up

The depth on this team is deep and the competition I think will make everyone better.

I'll hop on the Burress train, I left impressed with him after the B&G game in the spring.

I agree, I just don’t think NDs receiver corps is such that a breakout freshman couldn’t end up considered the #2 talent by the end of the year. Unlikely but certainly possible.

Burress’ stud father makes him a bit more plausible than the average 4 star to emerge.

Crazy I figured Dawson would be with the ones? Regardless if you are a 1 or 2 they’ll play even snaps, Moore will already come out unless we are killing teams
It looks like those were nickel packages. I could imagine with a run heavy offense Dawson might be with the 1s
