First off @IrishLion and @Merckxe525 thanks for the insight, it's awesome what you guys are able to provide for us hardcores. I have a question based off of a couple of tealeaves. Lion mentioned that we shouldn't worry about team chemistry for now and said that players stating it will be Minchey are unfounded rumors. Is it players who are spreading the unfounded rumors of it being Minchey or is the fact there are players saying it the unfounded rumors? There was the II report of how popular Kenny is and also the screenshot of Love playing NCAA26 with Minchey at QB, so it makes it seem like there is possibly an internal movement for Kenny to be the guy.

Intel on RB's and WR's from a Friend of the Website:

WR's:
Logan Saldate - Might be the best route runner on the team, mentally strong... but needs more time
Jerome Bettis Jr. - Good physical tools, and can play physical when necessary, but raw. Needs a couple years of work.
Watching Saldate’s feet in the clips he reminds me of Avery Davis (in a good way). With his route running is coming along and if his reported vertical is accurate & translates to the field, he could be a problem for defenses in the coming years.

Glad to hear of JBJ’s physical tools. I always thought he got ragged on as a receiver too much given his team’s need for him to play both ways. Hopefully he can use that experience to be a special teams contributor in the upcoming season.

Celebrating my 40th today and I’ll be around campus. Might just try to confidently walk my way into practice.
I'm imagining a confrontation.

"Don't put your F'ing hands on me. Do you know who the hell I am!!! I am MMFF's neighbor, that's who! Son, we live in a world that has tunnels. Those tunnels have to be dug by neighbors. I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom." Blah Blah Blah

Slow down, I’m taking notes. Should I aggressively poke them in the chest when I say this?

Any chance ND staffers are communicating slightly misleading info to the beat so they report that this closer than it is to not allow opponents to better prepare for our offense?

Not a lot of advantages to a QB competition but that's at least one potential benefit. I do realize game prep hasn't started yet for the team but I'm sure analysts have started scouting.

More likely just beat services to trying to propagate some sort of interesting story line this camp. This team is at an incredible stable (boring for news) place. So - nothing like a battle at QB to focus on.

Don’t know if Minchey is a better runner than Carr based on what I see in their legacy film work. He seems to be more of a scrambler but that also means he might be more jittery in the pocket than Carr. Don’t like hearing that the team itself is leaning towards one QB or the other. Not good if the coaches pick the lesser fav.

So I just finished the most recent II pod. While it does seem like a bunch of Debby downers, the question was what position groups concern you the most for this team to be a title contender and I think all of us would agree that QB, DL and TE would be the question marks.

The Ninja says Prister n gang are pretty much full of shit. Shooting for narratives that aren’t there. Yes everyone loves Minchey, but Carr is well liked and demands respect. He’s been pressing some, but would need to really screw up to not be QB1.

Offense: Improved from last year due to having a passing attack creating more explosiveness and balance. Will develop throughout the year and become dynamic and less reliant on the Run just in time for the playoffs.
  1. Looking to see the pass pro of the OL develop during camp. Run blocking I see no issue.
  2. TE is something I look at as any production is a positive. Eli being healthy can certainly help with that.
  3. I hear many complain about other teams new players (Miami anyone?). ND has several new WRs on the roster BUT with a QB who will be throwing more, Irish will produce and by the time mid season rolls around, that part of the O should be good if not really good.
  4. RB requires no explanation.
  5. QB speculation runs rampant with reporters seeing what? At best, 10% of camp passes thrown? Have to trust Denbrock here and my concerns are not extremely high other than having a new player on the field.

Defense: Continues to be the strength of the team.
  1. LBs are stout and I have no concerns other than a very minor leadership one. So many great players here.
  2. The Irish DL has numerous bodies and hoping both the pass rush with Traore and Young will limit how they develop pressure. (LB blitzing) The interior rush DL has questions but with so many bodies, the transfers, and having Onye (counting on him) in there, they should be rather decent if not better than good.
  3. The secondary gives me zero concerns. Yes, they'll have to replace Watts but with the athletes, transfers, and young talent, I believe Safety will be continue to be really good with the Sophomores and transfers.
  4. Confident that Mickens will develop an additional CB or two that can step in. Strength.

You know who warmed up away from his team every game I was at (4) and also wasn't in the team commercial break huddles.

Sam Hartman... For the II podcast group to say they haven't seen anything like this in 40+ years, what the heck were they doing in 2023?

It's a false narrative to state that players are actively politicking for either to start. It's also a false narrative to state that this team is split on who should start, or that there's any level of potential dissention building, should either quarterback start.

Sounds like old school team unity.
"On this team, we're all united in a common goal: to keep my job." ~Lou Holtz
