On the pod breaking down the 2027 offers, Driskall was talking about QB arm mechanics and how it messes things up. He mentioned a current ND qb is getting his worked on...is it fuckin Carr?

No.
He was talking about kids who have private QB coaches.
In this instance, he is referring to Grubbs.
It’s being said, multiple places, that the QB coach for Grubbs, (that douchey looking guy who is always wearing a backwards hat and chains) is messing up Grubbs’ mechanics.
You can already see it in Grubbs’ throwing velocity compared to his younger film.

ND’s top two targets in 2026 both trained with Trujillo. Would seem unlikely they have an issue with the guy’s work.

Nothing wrong with being “young and hip”…but he comes across as doofus

Other teams’ coaches have a problem with it too.
According to A&M site, they asked Hart to stop training with him once he reclassified.

And the problem is now, not when ND recruited them.
Grubbs has changed his weight, but not his body. There is a difference. His velocity has decreased. And the QB coach is known for coaching smaller QBs, not bigger kids like Grubbs.
Just because ND recruited Hart & Grubbs doesn’t mean they like the QB coach. They had Buchner as their top QB & hated his QB coach.

So are they exploring other QBs? Is Grubbs a good recruiter?

“Grubbs’ mechanics look good to me.”

I'm not convinced Ryan Roberts has any sources.
I think they went away when he left IB. When he was at IB, he regularly talked with prospects and their parents. He was able to get some good interviews with KVA's mom, Shuler's dad, etc. I haven't followed him closely since he left, but I'd be surprised if he still pulls those interviews.

Couldn't remember if we had an ESPN thread, so I'll put this here for now. I know there's some people that don't like Pat, but this was a pretty stand up move on his part.

Anyone hear from Kevin? I thought I'd check them out to see if there were any Fitz responses and saw he hasn't been with them since mid May, even though his X bio still says he's with em. Hope all is ok.

That guy is the goat of high school QB gurus.

What ever happened to him?

I worked as a janitor one summer in high school and after seeing all that Barron waving nonsense I considered dropping it all and getting into the QB coaching game.

Two kids I had the biggest beef with Charles Powers’ rankings of we’re CJ Carr & Drayk Bowen.
Not just because of how bad they were, but how he came on & tried to justify them.
With Bowen he said he wasn’t athletic enough. A kid who played Shortstop & Centerfieid good enough to be a D1 baseball player, isn’t athletic?
With Carr he said he didn’t have arm strength. At the Elite 11, all the other scouts agreed Carr had as much zip as anyone and was a top 3 QB there. Powers saw the exact same throws & dropped Carr out of the top 15 QBs in his rankings.

So I was curious now, how did it shake out?
Bowen was Powers’ 21st LB. (Outside top 200).
Carr was Powers’ 16th QB. (Outside top 200).

Go look at the players on Powers’ rankings above those two at their positions.
A bunch of the QBs aren’t even playing for lesser programs, & others have left to go play for smaller programs. Meanwhile, Carr is about to start for a top 5 team who was the national runner ups.
I didn’t recognize many of the LBs or ND played against, & beat, teams with some of the LBs who didn’t even play. And Bowen was a stud on the national runnerups & about to be a true junior captain on a top 5 team.

People have misses all the time, but the reasoning Powers gave for these two were just crazy, & everyone tried telling him so.
