Would love to know the NIL situation here. Finley is a hell of a lot more important to us than he is to Texas, Who seemingly have an endless supply of high-end skill talent in their backyard.
Saw some chatter that with the impending salary cap, Texas may have had a lower budget for WRs this cycle due to landing big timers last year and the lower expected ceiling on prospects this year.

So Fryzel, Golden, Finley, Fitzgerald, Reddish, Jacobson and maybe Premer and B. Robinson? Are we really going to be done by the start of camp with 2026? If that’s indeed the class I’m not sure how we could have done better.

Weren't those always the teams? Did we do enough to make him want to leave the state? I always thought that was the issue.
Yep, does he stay home or go to the Golden Dome? Pretty much the question with a few of the prospects but most this cycle are choosing ND🍀🍀

Yeah not even sure what position we would try to flip. Maybe we take a second QB? RB and OL is set, I’d try flipping a big time WR
QB depending on Grubbs' season play, a LB for sure, maybe a big time riser at WR or just a ATH who can play both ways

There was some guy on twitter not sure how accurate he is but claiming that Premer isn't coming to ND it's down to Kansas or Kansas State
There has been a lot of talk. Driskell's sources are saying it could be a ND / Kansas State or ND / Iowa State battle. The talk seems to be all over the place. Even Driskell stated no one seems super confident in his recruitment.

As I've said in other posts about Premer and the it's is that while all good only Premer is the only plug and play prospect. I think Jacobson and Fryzel redshirt as Freshmen.

Jacobson is very good but I think he's one that going to have to bide his time for the in-line TE job with Flanagan & Flanigan ahead of him.

Fryzel has as good an upside as anybody, just needs more time to build up that TE body.

I'd push back on the thought Premer is plug and play. We're talking about an undersized (for the position) prospect outta Kansas, so he'd face several obstacles. A college offense, much higher competition and Flanigan & Flanagan.

I'd wager Fryzel has a leg up from a competition standpoint.

The common denominator in each case is once again......🍀

Consider Mayer had a significant impact as a true freshman during the Covid season.

Larsen appeared against Stanford and in the fourth quarter of the UVA game.

I find it hard imagining many true freshmen walking into this program right now and earning any real burn. It would be wonderful, but I don't anticipate that. This is a 14-2 National Runner Up team and the most recent true frosh to do anything note worthy at the position was one of the best to ever play it in program history.

I completely forgot about Larsen. He’s up to 250 so he might be ready for extended action.
Bauman is ok as a in line backup type and the Arkansas transfer Washington might also be a contributor. Flanigan might surprise and be ready as well. But we might be really low on numbers for 2026 if Rairdon doesn’t return for a fifth year so whoever we get this cycle could be in the rotation right away.

Never ever thought I would see this, but here we are! MMFF and staff getting it done... I know 2026 recruiting has a long way to go, but when is the last time ND had a #1 spot in any ranking at any point in the recruiting year?

Last year, the year before... they more than doubled many others programs in terms of commitments. After the spring/June commit period, they slowly went down and down in the rankings.

I was looking at our class on on3 last night and we had 1 5*, 16 4*, and 4 3*. Now we still have the 1 5* but only 12 4* and 8 3*. That's some absolute bs.

I don’t see anything has changed

Faison, Thom, Hola and Fryzel are the 3 stars.

You may be looking at the Composite versus just On3

Ok, I guess I have tended to not pay much attention to rankings until the final ones due to what you outline here; I honestly couldn't remember if we ever held #1 at times in the season before the final tally.
