Bill 'scumbag' Belichick is 16 games under .500 without Brady.
Without the cheating and the cuck, he's a career DC.
He coached the Browns for half a dozen years. He went 11-5 w Matt Cassell as his starting QB in ‘08. Sounds like you’ve got an axe to grind. Bad take. He’s one of the all time greats if not greatest coach.

His record is his record.
16 games below .500 without Brady and that's WITH finding new and creative ways to cheat every year. He was going to get fired until Bledsoe ruptured his spleen.

Facts

The Bledsoe part is particularly spot on. He was a 'Dead Man Walking' in NE. There was talk of canning him in-season. Bledsoe went down and then they went on an improbable SB run w/Brady. That's when became a great head coach.

Brady eventually left NE and won a SB w/TB.

Post TB12 Belichick never came close to winning again.

I won't deny that he was a great DC. But Belichick being a great head coach is due to TB12.

Love how you remove Brady to start your argument. As it turns out he had Brady, won 6 SuperBowls and is what, 2nd all time on wins list?

Interesting article. I’m really curious as to why he thought he was worth getting a bump from 2 to 4 million a year?

BB and TB made each other, but TB had more to it than BB IMO.

They'll both say they wouldn't be who they are without the other.

I don't think BB has six titles without Brady, and I don't think Brady gets to seven without BB.

He was a horrible GM and that’s what caused so many losses the last few years. His roster sucked. Coaching ability unparalleled.
We’ll see how that translates in college, where roster (and culture) building is probably more important than Xs and Os. I’m skeptical.

You and JPrue are missing the point. The discussion has evolved into his rights. Let a kid make whatever he can, but don't start sitting out to force a school to up the pay. You signed a contract. Honor it and look around after the season.
lol. No we are not. What contract? If it’s a contract then he has to amend it or be let out of it. If the system allows him to leave then he can leave. I haven’t heard any one suing for breach of contract except the kid who is saying Florida. Rashada I think.

You can’t accept that that they can use the tools available to them to get a deal they want. That is the system both sides a playing in. Essentially what you are saying is he can get paid just not like that. Lmaoooooo

I mean no person in th history of free markets has ever made multiple people match or exceed a desired salary or income range to perform a job. Haha. You are totally proving my point I made before.

“Just not like that”.

I mean that is incredibly disingenuous, he would be taking more money to be coached by the greatest football coach most of us have ever seen.

I don't like the way he went about it at all, but to say he is leaving for a basketball school is wrong.
Also, respect to Josh Heupel he has built Tennessee back up to where they belong...but he has been a head coach now for (7) years.
Correct me if I'm wrong but has he ever coached a QB in those (7) years that has played a meaningful NFL snap?
Based on some quick research I believe the last NFL QB he worked with was Sam Bradford back in like the 2009 range while at Oklahoma.
I think it is fair to question just how much these spread offenses, and specifically Heupel's prepare young QB's for the next level.

Nico is going to get paid significantly more this season if he chooses UNC and play for the coach that worked with Tom Brady for 20 years.
If the kid was meant to be an NFL player / Star, he would be going to the right place and being mentored by the right person.

Well, it looks like UNC is looking to go another direction. So, we may be down to just one basketball school now (UCLA) 🤣 and Tulane. Again, to reiterate, he’s potentially going from a top-12, CFB contender and historic program to perhaps Tulane or UCLA. We’ll see how it plays out, but if those are the remaining options ….

I can accept it. I already stated I'm okay with kids getting whatever they can. Not sure why you don't accept that.

If you think he got that money without signing a contract, I don't know what to tell you.

It takes a gross miscalculation in terms of perceived value to get to this point, and it's fairly hard because there are plenty of teams that would love to swoop up a higher level QB even if it means overpaying. There might be a small level of sanity still embedded in this corpulent, de-legislated amorphous system we call CFB.

The fact that he (and others allegedly) were willing to SIT OUT of the CFP for more money is WILD. I get what Cack is saying, but god this is what is killing the sport we all love.

It's not killing the sport, my friend.

This is about one kid making a decision. I've said it a few times here, but this individual made it ABUNDANTLY CLEAR during his recruiting process that he would be playing for the highest bidder. Tennessee went into this with eyes wide open, and even though I applaud them for telling the kid to kick rocks, this is a bed of their own making.

Some schools choose to recruit kids like this. Others don't, for good reason.

It's a symptom of what is killing it. Commodification of the sport so the MBAs can milk as much money out of college football as they possibly can. Ruining the traditions of conferences, bowl games, bands, HOME football games in marquee matchups, and more. Throw in pay for play... yeah I'd say it is. Tennessee absolutely bought in with the kid who did make it clear. But if you don't see a problem with players contemplating SITTING OUT the CFP well then idk.
