Is there actually any film to back up the claim he takes too many sacks other than the film of him getting chased by the guy that is possibly going to go #1 in the NFL draft?
Limited emotional, anecdotal evidence from one memorable moment is always better than research-based and data-backed information. Is there actually any film to back up the claim he takes too many sacks other than the film of him getting chased by the guy that is possibly going to go #1 in the NFL draft?
I do not remember which thread it was, but someone on here had statistics of what his sack percentage was per pass attempt. It was way higher that RL's - shocker - but was also higher than the national average. Maybe it was @Dale that had those stats? Is there actually any film to back up the claim he takes too many sacks other than the film of him getting chased by the guy that is possibly going to go #1 in the NFL draft?

He gets sacked 9% of the time for comparison Leonard was 5%, Hartman was 5% . Bama was one of the worst teams in giving up sacks in 2023 Milroe got sacked15% of the timeIs there actually any film to back up the claim he takes too many sacks other than the film of him getting chased by the guy that is possibly going to go #1 in the NFL draft?
Check out Jaime's tweet from isd as he talks about this...I too felt the same but he brings factsMy biggest worry with Angeli is he takes too many sacks
Man, idk what more Angeli has to do to prove that he could be a quality starter. What portal QB, specifically, would you think is 100% better than Angeli who is already intricately familiar with this offense? Would you take Sam Hartman over Steve Angeli in 2025?If we’re really going to roll with Angeli we should’ve broke the bank for a portal QB.
Yup, Jamie trying to calm you guys all down and has me convinced it's going to be Angeli, and he's going to thrive.
Not getting injured in practiceAlright I’m back in the debate, so Angeli is clearly not going to improve those numbers based off Milroe or even Book type agility. The suggestion would then, he will improve based off improvement in setting protections and recognizing pressures? Fair. This implies he struggles with those currently though, right?
If so, what is he better at then Carr currently?

I’ve met Horka, and he’s a decent guy; feel like his reporting is pretty strikes and balls; Hyde and Goolsby can be really annoying at times; but fully agree with you Singer is the best ND recruiting guy and Soble at least makes an effort to talk with the basketball staff. While ISD is still the best source for quality of info on the beat, I will give on3 credit. They’ve certainly surpassed 247 on the national level, and B&G has grinded its way to the second best ND site for recruiting. Sweaty Mike, cringy as he is, grinds out decent quality scoops daily as does Kyle Kelly. Soble has found a decent role with the basketball beat and football. Will never like Horka or Tim Hyde but there’s enough content that they’re easy to avoid.
No one mentioned Sam Roush. I'm surprised. He is a true senior, so I don't know for sure if he's graduated from Stanford.
On the Mosley part there, Prister or O'Malley also added that Chad Bowden may try to swoop in for Emmett. Team up the bros together.
Prister has always been a fan of Bailey and for good reason. That said, I could see Bowden getting both Bailey & Mosley to come to SC. Seems like a more seamless transition for both of them.I might be reading too much into this, but I found the following exchange interesting at around the 40 minute mark of the most recent II podcast.
Prister: "Have I mentioned David Bailey lately? Although that wouldn't be a great situation."
O'Malley: "You stack talent, but that wouldn't be the necessary one."
Prister: "Notre Dame is aware that Stanford has a problem and David Bailey is still there. They're aware. They also know that Emmett Mosley is still there and him coming to Notre Dame might be able to sway his younger brother."
I'd be all for Bailey but we are pretty deep at LBI might be reading too much into this, but I found the following exchange interesting at around the 40 minute mark of the most recent II podcast.

doubt you can get a guy whos a starter at Stanford to want to transfer to ND to be third stringIf last year taught anything yes take him especially if he's a Sr you lose nothing. We were paper than at that position by the end of the year. Plus can never have too many guys to get after the QB.
Botelho health is question too so bring him in. USC is going to prolly end up buying both of em
This is where I'm at you can never have enough depth, Penn State was loading on the DL and rotated guys left and right and last thing we need is USC getting both.If last year taught anything yes take him especially if he's a Sr you lose nothing. He probably wouldn't be 3rd string. At worst he's seconddoubt you can get a guy whos a starter at Stanford to want to transfer to ND to be third string
He probably wouldn't be 3rd string. At worst he's second
Plus Farimo is gonna line up at edge at timesIf Botelho and Traore are healthy, plus you have Sneed and KVA in packages, the snaps start to drop pretty quickly
Right but why would he want to do that when he can start somewhere else…like SC?He probably wouldn't be 3rd string. At worst he's second
