Merck still posts on the Lou Somoygi board (On3), for any of those still keen on what he has to say.

Did I miss something? I thought the guy was extremely knowledgeable and insightful. Just to save me 30 pages of backtracking, what happened to change the view? Last I knew everyone was singing his praises and thanking him for better than pay site info.

It so reminds me of how we treat recruits.

Commits to ND: "This guy is a game changer - exactly what we need. Freeman is finally getting us over the hump in recruiting!"

Decommits from ND - "That guy wasn't a good fit. He was gonna be bad in the locker room. His competition was terrible - way overrated."

Same thing has happened with Merck...

Blackstone enthusiasts on here? New to mine but really enjoying it and wish I had gotten it long before a smoker. Crunchwrap Supremes, Philly Cheese steaks, smash burgers, and fajitas have been awesome.
Love mine, wish I'd gotten a bigger one. Smash burgers, chicken fried rice, sliders, breakfast... Practicing my Hibachi skills

So, now that’s it’s all apparently over. Does anyone have any clue who this dude supposedly was??? Shared inside thoughts on stuff spanning multiple coaching regimes going back many, many years,… did anything get verified beyond ‘trust me bro’ ( and I don’t mean that as an attack, just honestly curious) and did anything come out on who he supposedly is?

Had some dm’s with merckxe.
I have some connections, enough to verify for my own piece of mind that I believe he or she was legit.

So what positions would have first hand knowledge of the program going back to at least the end of the Charlie W era?? Couldn’t be anyone actually IN the program in terms of coaching or training right? Not having worked at ND but a few other D1 football schools I’m trying to think,… athletic advising??? Maybe housing??

Dude's name refers to Eddy Merckx, regarded as the greatest cyclist of all time. He's also up to speed on today's cycling (which is not exactly a popular sport in this county). Just need Granger to cross reference any cycling enthusiasts with those who are connected to the program. Should't be difficulty and we should expect an answer by the end of the weekend.

You may have missed Beau’s post. All food posts moved out of this thread. Let’s not bother cluttering it up again w this nonsense.

In this case it refers to the model 525 carbon road racing bike by the Eddie Merckx bicycle company.

I’ll just do it the old fashioned way. I’ll post up on the Granger paths and start taking out cyclists one by one until I get answers.

I mean it has to be someone in the athletic department that’s been there 20 years. How hard could that be to drill down on.

I thought by now you would have told us if there's a 525 sitting in MF's garage.

Ok, since I'm up talking to friends:

Yes, Saban would have come to ND more than once. In fact, one time, the ND jet came down to meet with him, and he indicated he'd fly back if they presented him with a contract. (The source is rock solid)

What so many don't understand is that ND has, and will always be far more attractive to certain big name coaches than outsiders believe.

As for Clausen: Well, he had a bad tendency to get hammered at bars, and run his mouth just a bit too much.
Unless you're sitting in Alabama or SEC country you wouldn't word it like that. I always felt this was the strongest clue to figure out who he is.
