IU's schedule was super, super favorable this year. Cig was at least bright when he was offered the job, he saw that he could get 10-11 wins easy during the regular season. Next year will be a bit more difficult. They should get through September fairly easy other than Iowa, They'll probably lose to Oregon and Penn State. Wisconsin could give them a tough time too, Badgers had a lot of losses but played teams like Oregon close in dogfights. I'm guessing 3 losses during the regular season, but could be just 2.

Yeah I dunno if Rudolph actually knows what he's doing between Knapp at OT and not promising him the starting center spot. I get that Craig is a better athlete AND Jagusah hasn't gotten hurt yet but Coogan could've started at either guard or center for ND this year.

So ND "promises" certain players starting jobs in advance of camp, and just has to decide which players get those promises? Or does ND tell everyone they have to compete for a job, and make no promises, even if players have a sense of whether they are likely to start given the other players on the roster?
