more likely he just got a lot more money from someone than we were willing to pay a senior who is only going to start if someone gets hurt.

While I don't doubt that he is good enough to start right away, you generally don't want to be throwing freshmen to the fire on your OL. It's not like skill positions. Typically a true freshman doesn't start on OL unless you've got depth issues or holes from recruiting.

Not sure why Michigan breaks everyone's brain in 2025. We haven't played them in 5 years and they provided a blueprint for winning a title without top 3 recruiting classes. If I were an interior o lineman, they'd be high on my list of transfer destinations, too. Coogan played hard and selflessly for ND and now needs to look out for himself with one year remaining. I wish him well as long as he's not playing ND.

Also, please don't call them "skunkbear" or "that team up north." It is so lame.

Regardless of our history, they are our #1 recruiting rival. They are just a few hours from us, have a great education, and have a historic program. We should root against them regardless.
