I think being run over by a truck and shot in the foot has a European "I can't make it to work" kind of vibe to it.

That's just me
.
HR is all about policies and procedures. You can't grant an FMLA absence until someone turns in the documentation, even if you've talked to them personally or seen they were in an accident.

Most organizations just send you to HR to walk you through it because if you don't know all the rules and the process, you'll almost certainly make a mistake.

True. Most HR departments tell all managers to basically shut up and don't give any instructions other than tell the employee to go see HR. The last thing HR wants is for a manager to give incomplete/inaccurate information and the company ends up getting sued in the process.

She requested the wrong type of leave by mistake.

After being run over by a truck and shot in the foot. She didn't know she was shot until she got to the hospital, either, so I suppose requesting the incorrect leave sort of jives.
Shocking! It was stupid for people to think otherwise. I get it, it's Amazon. They don't have a great reputation for treating their workers. But the rules regarding FMLA are pretty clear and even Amazon will follow those rules. She just needed to request the right leave and provide the necessary documentation.
They probably realized she requested the wrong leave after all of the negative publicity.

Having spent most of my career working in large corporations, I can tell you this is spot on. Even if it was spelled out in the policy manual, I would always send them to HR.

From some peoples view, they should release them. After all, they are only suspected of having ties.

pretty funny for the the super online MAGA crowd. Their comic book character fighting the swamp takes hundreds of thousands of dollars in SwampBucks while simultaneously complaining about people doing that.

Draino and Catturd are a joke. I never give them followers or attention. The left wing version of Harry Sisson and Jojo (and more) will likely get a medal of freedom in the next week.

LOL - Smart and Safe Florida is a PAC focused on legalizing pot? Who funds this shit?
Smart because "people are gonna smoke anyway" and Safe because "then a select group of businessmen can get a monopoly on the legal pot market.

Gov, not my problem. Reading about this, it's crazy. Mayor cut millions from the FD budget and there was a proposal to bring more water the the Greater LA area and it was shot down, because of the smelt fish? Prayers to all of those affected.
