Kirby not messing around - It was reported that TX was likely to land him, but maybe GA outspent them

Interesting. We had a little interest from this TE but he never visited. Seems to be def. leaving NE but with 2 years of eligibility remaining. Not clear if he's looking to finish his degree (unless he already has it) and looks to play elsewhere or enters the Draft (not sure he's that highly rated there). Fidone won't return to Big Red in 2025

Pretty sure Goolsby trained him

I think the first wave of the portal was a big flop, but I'm not even going to sweat it. After beating UGA without a few studs on D....I take it MFMF has all the depth he needs going into 2025. 🤷‍♂️

Obviously they have a reason. I've read enough to believe that they already have players locked up. Program is focused on winning now and if they think this is necessary, Ill role with it. If we lose though......... fire him

We are also still the only CFP team to not LOSE anyone once the season ended

ND does things differently, but take the good with the bad not just the bad
Agree I think us going far too means we will see less guys leaving too

They got a guy they feel can be a #1 next year in Fields who is a legitimate boundary guy. A depth piece in Will Pauling that has played a lot of ball, added a body to the TE room that can block really well, and one of the best, truest nickels from an SEC team.

I really don't see how you can have the opinion that it was a big flop.

Ok, so I know I've been spewing shit on here a lot with being off the last two weeks for the holidays (now back to the grind), but this potential domino effect move is worth mentioning and could be interesting... The NFL coming after Sark for HC openings. Do we all think that Arch would stay at TX without Sark there? Also, I forget, is there now also a transfer rule in place that states even w/out an open transfer window, a non-GT player has the right to transfer immediately if their HC (even position coach?) leave the school? I thought I recall that being a transfer rule now. NFL Interest In Steve Sarkisian?
Nothing gonna happen until TX is done up to a potential NC game, but this is getting interesting... Tensions Rise for Arch Manning as Steve Sarkisian Urged to Emulate $80M Jim Harbaugh Despite Texas AD’s Strong Verdict

That article was almost incomprehensible.

Three big differences between Harbaugh and Sark. Harbaugh had already been a very successful NFL coach, was in endless trouble with the NCAA and had just won a national championship. Barring a big upset Friday night, Sark's none of those things. Which is not to say he wouldn't jump for the right opportunity. But I'd guess a lot of this talk is sunshine pumping by agents who see other CFP coaches getting big extensions and figuring they can do same for him.
