Anyone know the deal with Fortuna? I know he was (is?) in the hospital. But he’s not been on the Independent for a month I believe and doesn’t sound like he will be next week either.

Just curious.

Heart related I think

A day behind on the pods. John Brice was pretty fired up yesterday on the subject of taking a qb from the portal. Prister got him riled saying the decision needs to be made now and TO kept it rolling. Brice thinks it is totally dependent on Carr’s health and that it will hurt NDs ability to recruit the position in the future if they keep taking portal guys. Fun to see that passion from these guys, I hadn’t seen them go at it like that before.

Pristers comment while signing out about Brice being in the Christmas spirit was hilarious

Definitely, it's the II pod with the core 3 and Hit and Hustle are it for me. The rest of the "multi-times a week" pods are trash.

Earned Five Star is good too, but it's weekly and it's just different.
Agree. Those are my top 2. I also like Goolsby for pure entertainment

Earned Five Star is the embarassing cousin of ND podcasts and I mean that in the best way possible
The co-host who does the Why This Team Sucks on Earned Five Star is one of the most grating midwestern know-it-alls I've ever come across. The epitome of the Reddit-brained football analyst.

Love II, Goolsby, and Tim Hyde. Mike Singer as co-host for the Blue and Gold guys detracts from the experience. Guy has zero rizz.

I find them all funny but I don't take them seriously. Them arguing "show me the loss" every August when looking at Notre Dame's schedule and getting angry at other podcasts picking us to go 10-2 is always the jolt of homerism I need in the pre-season.

-II w/ Tim's & Brice (Sampson is ok)
-Power Hour w/ Mike and Jamie
-Hit & Hustle w/ Greg and Jamie
-Goolsby show with Singer and Hyde
-Always Irish (my son loves the crazy rants)

These are my favorites

Tim Kennedy doesn't actually bring much football knowledge to the show. Typical average Joe that screams at everything during a game. I can see why he is entertaining, but I watched his crap for 10 minutes and never went back. All emotion, nothing concrete.

Yup, strictly entertainment. But hey, if loves the Irish and who wouldn't love to make a living ranting like a fool about ND.

During Driskells podcast do they normally have an intermission or is it usual for them to just shit their pants?

I'm pretty sure Driskell has got a pee bag. I've watched more than a few of those four hour videos that he loves to do, and most times, he doesn't get up. He's either pissing into a bag or just straight up holding it.

I feel the II podcast and the Independent are best because they are actually journalists that have connections in the program and college football.

The rest just come off as super fans living out of their mom’s basement.

I also plug Inside ND Sports with Eric Hansen and Tyler James as part of my podcast rotation (II, Power Hour, Independent).

They conduct interviews with former players, coaches, staff, and others they covered professionally and those are extremely interesting.

It actually brings a lot learning insight to previous teams or even general ND football history. Different twist than some of the other podcasts and worth checking out.

the problem with former players is that by and large they are just casual fans now. there's very little to gleam from them and they are all hesitant to ever tell stories of stuff that went on when they were players.
