Wimbush had a 49% completion

49 Percent.

Milroe stats, which I posted earlier already, is a considerable gap better than Wimbush. It’s not the same ballpark. His worst game was recent and sour, but c’mon now.
The Bush was throwing to spuds though. Milroe has speedsters on the other end making him look better than he is.

Alabama’s WR outside of Williams are extremely unimpressive, UDFA, late round at best type players.

Wimbush had ESB, Smythe, Claypool and Boykin in 2017. 4 guys that played real NFL snaps.

I don’t think Milroe is Lamar Jackson but he is considerably better Wimbush. Like a humongous gap.

Wimbush QBR = 76.2 (#18) / Pass 15.5 (#93)
Milroe QBR = 82.8 (#8) / Pass 43.2 (#39)

Milroe has regressed year-over-year going from 23 TDs and 6 INTs to 15 TDs and 10 INTs. His rating declined 20 points and his Pass QBR declined 21 points (dropped from #18 in the country to #39 in the country). Simply put... he is a regressing passer that all Bama fans want gone and his head coach recently publicly apologized to the WRs for him being bad + the offense not getting them the ball.

I'm a skeptical he's suddenly going to get better with less talent around him.

And let's talk about his best game of the year against Georgia... threw deep 3 times, all big plays. Threw to the intermediate middle of the field ZERO times. He threw 22 passes around or behind the line of scrimmage (86% completion percentage). That's what juices his completion percentage.

If Underwood is worth the $10M+, Milroe is definitely worth $4M
It is still unfathomable a true freshman getting that kind of jack. I look back at myself as a college freshman and if I had that kind of money....hookers and blow....every night.

The odds are greater than 50% percent that 2025 Milroe is better than sophomore CJ Carr coming off an injury.

Assuming we don’t Shit the bed against Indiana, We will have a lot of momentum going into next year, which I’m sure Freeman doesn’t want to squander. I get Taking Another transfer quarterback.
All depends on what you want from the QB position.

Like I said I don’t think Milroe is a godsend. He’s comparable to Leonard as a passer, who also isn’t a spectacular passer. He’s better than trash and better than Wimbush though, he’s a good, yet flawed college QB. Decision making issues much more than arm talent. I mean nitpicking how he beat GEORGIA? Hopefully we can do that in two weeks lol. We would likely be a CFP team with Milroe, as we are now with Leonard. I don’t know if we are CFP in 2025 with Carr, so I’ll hear it out if that is the route chosen.

FWIW, I don’t think their grades are gospel but per PFF Milroe was 13th in the country on Intermediate throws. If we eliminate every college QB who can’t throw intermediate over the middle, gonna have less than one hand to count on.

I know nothing I just think he matches the rumors.

Pretty simple. If milroe is an option..

If MF and MD feel the WR group isn’t good enough.. you take Milroe and run the same shit.

If they think the WRs will be fine, you roll with one of the 3 on the roster

I personally don’t think any of them 3 right now can win you a national title. Why waste a year of growing pains if you believe this team to be as good as people think?

And CJ Carr is not and may be full go by camp time. FYI

You absolutely need to go into next year with a QB who you know what your getting you can’t waste a year on a question mark

Yep and think about all the money you’d waste on unimportant things.

If I got my timeline correct

  1. The feeling was ND had their QB of the future.
  2. A couple weeks ago Tom Loy said ND was "big game hunting" for a QB
  3. Freeman said in the post season press conference that ND is not looking for a QB in the portal.
  4. A "reputable poster" on the II boards said ND has a deal for a QB in place, its in the $4M range

My feeling is who is this "big game QB"? It certainly possible that ND is actually trying to get a QB and denying it publicly. But all the QB's that have been named in this thread are hardly big game. I don't see a Caleb Williams, Kyler Murray, Joe Burrow, Justin Fields out there that is worth that kind of money. You all think Jalen Milroe and Quinn Ewers are worth $4M? If they were that good, they'd declare for the draft.
Let's see.....QB of the future, and Loy saying that ND is big game hunting for a QB.

Dante Moore is coming to Notre Dame!!!!!!

Good take. So, just thinking about OSU and Julian Saylin,. Would they roll with him, or bring another one in. Same situation. I'm confident enough in our staff to get a guy, and integrate him into him into what we do.
Same as ND, you go get a portal QB. You're OSU, you don't have to roll out an unproven QB. I really believe that if Freeman and CO were even remotely considering Angeli we would have seen him throw the ball more than 28 times this year. It was a perfect year to work in your next young QB when you're up 30 every Saturday.

This is where I’m at we blew out most teams yet Angeli barely played I think we can win with Angeli but then you better go out and get 3 dynamic offensive weapons

I swear we better have something cooking because we need 2-3 guys who can play no idea why we wouldn’t be all over this kid
I wonder if Rubio is coming back. Not that he’s an elite talent or anything, but the II guys think that Rubio is better than the Tulane DT.

You still need 2-3 guys if Rubio comes back. You’ll have Rubio and Hinish with experience that’s it. Need a big difference maker and 2 guys capable of playing 20 snaps a game. Can’t roll with Rubio and Hinish and one other what if Rubio gets hurt?

I’m more perplexed/troubled that we didn’t see more of Minchey and Carr, TBH.

I think Angeli is what he is - solid but unspectacular - while the other two appear to have more upside. The fact that neither really saw the field - acknowledging Carr’s injury in the second half of the year - doesn’t bode well in the staff feeling they’re ready for the keys next year. Which means if you see a QB in the portal who’s better than “solid,” maybe you got get him.
