I never really realized it until now, TBH, but it's true when you look at the club history.That's fair. I listen to a lot of soccer/football talk podcasts/sirius 157 and I just get tired of hearing about how they lost another match. Meanwhile, there are plenty of thriving clubs outperforming expectations or getting a lot more with a lot less, that barely get mentioned.
They're still one of the most popular clubs in the world because of their success in the 1990s, but I get what you're saying for sure. I think when you look at what Aston Villa is doing right now it's largely unnoticed. Hell, Don Carlo got Manager of the Year yesterday instead of Xabi Alonso. Big clubs are going to big club.
Manchester United still get the clicks, they get the attention. If this trajectory continues, though, maybe we don't hear as much about them as time goes on.
