I dont know. Did you miss that part? Regardless if you missed that ......Im saying it does. And we have heard it all before. Many times. Its comical at this point. I feel bad for LSU fans if they have to stick with him for the next few years.
I was being sarcastic, because I don't recall him ever saying "It starts with me".

I empathize. I do not sympathize. You are right. They did this to themselves.
Coach O got $17M for his buyout and was beyond happy to leave. LSU keeps making their bed.

Who is out there they can go and get next? It's going to be the same names as it always is. Campbell, Kiffin, etc. Probably less names now when you consider where guys like Jimbo Fisher, Fickell, Aranda, Bill O'Brien have positioned themselves.

I’d say Brohm from Louisville has to be a hot name. Not sure he is a fit in SEC country but I’d expect him to not be at Louisville too much longer.

Why on earth would he not take the money that he was owed per the agreement of his contract? If the places were reversed, and you were the HC getting fired, you sure as shit would not turn down that money, none of us would. The best part of being a college football coach isn’t the job, it’s when they pay you to go away.
Believe me, I'm not turning down the millions that are contractually obligated to me. What I'm saying is Weis doesn't know why he's not welcomed back on campus with open arms like other past coaches are, and I'm hypothesizing that it comes down to the bloated contract. Faust sucked royally on the field, but he was still beloved after getting let go. The only reason I can guess that Weis doesn't get the same treatment as an alum is the bloated contract that we were stuck paying for several years after he was fired. Was he entitled to that money? Absolutely, because Kevin White was a dope.

I'm making the case that Weis could have probably gotten the Faust treatment if he resigned from the job on his own and maybe he does a deal with the university under the table to reduce the payout. I'm thinking something like how Shaw resigned as an alum of Stanford. Obviously it's not Weis' fault he got overpaid, that's on his agent and White. Regardless, he doesn't seem to be welcome back and my guess is it all stems from the bad contract. While he was a bit rough around the edges, I think he had a better demeanor than BK and he genuinely loves/loved his alma mater.

This is a little different situation from other coaches that were fired early, like Coach O. While Orgeron was a native of Louisiana and played for the Tiguhs for a year, he graduated from Northwestern State. I don't think he cares much if he's welcome back at LSU or not, although I imagine he is because he agreed to step down pretty amicably. Weis, on the other hand, was an ND graduate and he really wants to be welcome back on campus and doesn't seem to be at this time.

It took him awhile to get home and the Brohms are Louisville loyalty. His base salary is $5M a year and he gets an annual raise of $250k.

That'd be super interesting.

They're terrible too. White helmets, yellow jerseys, and white pants I believe is the combination ... we haven't broken those out since the Notre Dame Independence Bowl in the 90's I believe. I also read the players held a player's only meeting. Those, in my opinion, are never good....
I don’t hate them as much as I thought I would. I’m not overly crazy about them, however. Probably will look good in a loss to my grad school.

With this week already at a boiling point for BK, and now he lost their crown jewel, let’s suspend disbelief and pretend they are about to lose to Vandy.

It would be the most satisfying stake to the heart of a man’s career ever witnessed.

As much as this thrills me, my disdain for Michigan is so, so, so much greater than my disdain for BK.
By a country mile. Michigan is an institution and BK is an individual. Even among college football individuals, he's not at the top of my disdain list. There are guys in his current conference I dislike more than him.

As much as this sucks, I can’t blame the kid. Michigan is a great school and program, and that’s far too much money to say no to.

But, if my son was Underwood and Utah State offered 15MM, I’d also encourage him to go there over Michigan. That’s too much money to turn down. That’s life changing money (even if college football and the NFL doesn’t work out for Underwood).

I’m more sad for college football overall.

Is this how much it was? I've heard it was originally 10MM, then they upped it, but hadn't heard the amount. It's an insane amount of money.

Last I heard was $12MM paid over the 4 year period. Absolutely crazy for a unproven recruit — I’m not implying that he will be, but we’ve had our share of 5 star busts.

Agree with the Beard. Any kind of decent financial management and that kid is set. Hard to argue unless competing offers were in the neighborhood...then you can debate a ton!

What’s the price tag a typical 5 star recruit would put on being able to play in the postseason?

I’d love to go to XYZ Univ but Michigan is paying me $xxx million to go there and I’m ok with not competing in the post season.

It's really kind of a relief for Kelly. He can simply point to that fact that Michigan offered him an unprecedented amount of money and respond with, "What do you expect me to do? We can't match our outbid that offer."

He could simply put the cash in an extremely conservative account making 3%, and he could "retire" following his time at Michigan.
Let's say $12MM taxed at 37% = $7,560,000.00. That sum earning at 3% = $226,800.00/yr ($18,900.00/month).

My impression has always been that BK is all about the Benjamin's. I don't think he gives two shits about his legacy. Shortly after he signed that mammoth contract, I thought to myself "what are the chances he intentionally tries to get fired so he can start the retirement party early."

Maybe he shouldn’t have demanded a $100 million contract?

What a hypocrite to cry about not having money when he’s hogging it all up
