We used to have a place called Edwards Drive-In on the southeast side that had fantastic tenderloins and onion rings. They closed down though after 60 years back in 2022, unfortunately.

My Grams ran the Mr. Dans across the street from Edwards for a long time back when I was a kid. After little league games, she’d hook us all up with free coney dog coupons. Now the only Mr. Dans still open is up on 46th street or something I think.

You ever been to one of the Chatham Pubs? I hear there's a really cool one in an old part of downtown. They took us to one in Fishers or Noblesville. Total English soccer pub. Their tenderloin was called the War Pig. They add bacon and a gooey egg over a ton of cheese and jalapeno sauce. I'll never forget it.

We had a place out here where you could get Breaded Tenderloin, Chicken Fried Steak, Chicken Fried Chicken or a Chicago style Breaded Steaks. While a breaded steak from a place like Ricobenes in Chicago is on my last meal list, there's something about chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes / gravy and honey glazed baby carrots that is the king of comfort food for me.

But a pork tenderloin the size of a man hole cover, onion rings and fried mushrooms from a proper root beer stand is pretty much heaven.

... as long as the car hop brings it to ya on skates.

Edward’s was featured on Triple D. They made a tenderloin sandwich about the size of a manhole cover.

Someone bought Edward’s and opened back up. Now they’re only open weekdays during lunch.

They wore skates at our drive-ins... B-K, Morrison's and Carlson's (which is still open in Michigan City)

I'm just asking cuz the closest I got to the golden era was watching Happy Days as a kid, I wasn't out cruising Broad Ripple in my lil duece coupe with that dime, Betty Jean McGilicuddy straddling my... gear shifter.

2 cups brown sugar- i wanted this sauce to be sweeter and a little bit thicker
1 cup water
couple dashes of worcestershire
garlic powder
onion powder
salt and pepper
1/2 cup honey
couple dashes of Tabasco
Let simmer for 15 minutes on low heat

I started experimenting with making my own sauces last year and I think im getting the hang of it

Nick’s Kitchen in Huntington, IN (near Fort Wayne) is said to have been the origin of the BPT. The Edinburgh Diner down south of Indy near Columbus has maybe the largest BPT in the world. Just depends how you like your BPT. Some like it thin, while others (like myself) prefer a BPT with some girth…
