ohhh he doesn't need any pushing....that would be his pick...took him to his first game against virginia at virginia with Kiser to fuller for the win! he just wants to play major college football regardless but IF ND would ever get involved, it wouldn't need to do much convincing for him
Thats just good parenting

This doesn’t sound like a very profitable approach…..

lol he's a genius which is good but also sucks, because I'm not...Unfortunately, Ivy doesn't offer scholarships for sports and he wants to play major Div 1 ....We shall see
My cousin ran track at Columbia. She paid about the same as I did for North Dakota State. (About $8k per year). I think she got a pretty good deal there. So that's something to keep in mind based on what offers he gets and what he wants to do long term. I wouldn't dwell on paying a few bucks for school if said school is gonna set him up for a great life after football/school is done.

Good luck to him! Hopefully you, mom, and bio dad have put a good head on his shoulders and he makes a good choice. God bless.

Jimmy? From the Bronx? Hell yeah, great guy lol. It’s possible I’ve come across him, I’ve been assigned to 3 boros and have worked citywide.
No joke I believe he is in the Bronx lol. Lafferty is the last name i think.

My nephew is being recruited to low level baseball schools. His dad and I have had many chats about this situation regarding the debate of wanting to support your kid who really wants to play a sport in college versus choosing a school that will best set you up for life after said sport is done. Essentially, it's the Notre Dame recruiting pitch of "4 for 40." Because some schools that he could go to offer a way better solution academically, but they fall short on scholarship money or fall short on playing time/development. It sounds like your kid is in the same boat with the Ivy League schools. How are those discussions going on this topic specifically? If it were me, I'd have a very hard time not pushing the very best school possible regardless of sports.

My old man threw a baseball at my face as a 14 y/o starting varsity my Frosh year because I wasn’t/wouldn’t hit the the ball the other way. Better believe I started peppering that left center gap again after that.

He also mandated 100 swings a day even though he didn’t live with me. I’ve gone through 100s of tees.

Was committed to Ball State for about a year until Hersh called. It was a tough decision and that’s when my dad truly gave me the keys and told me to follow my heart. I chose Tech and played in 4 NAIA College World Series. Best decision I ever made.

My advice is to lead him but let him make his decision. His heart is where he needs/wants to be.

They’ll be some outside noise, too. Let the women in your world deal with that bull shit. He needs to stay focused on his craft.

You have to be a proud papa.
certainly, it's unimaginable honestly...i used to have to sit there at his practices in midget football coaxing him to get out there at the beginning of every freaking practice and him crying(it was his choice to play) ...he's only played 4 total years of football ever (1 midget football and 3 high school seasons) so it's pretty exciting to see what his ceiling might be

We had a great time at virginia, it was cool we hung out in the players lounge, all the recruits and family ate breakfast, the Def recruiting coordinator took us on a private tour of facilities and met with head of nutrition and some assist coaches. All the recruits got measured weighed etc. they bused us up to stadium and then to the on the field... had a chance to see tyree, my other son who came with us was like what's up tyree... and some 3* commit for uva was like you know Chris? "He's a hero back home" and then indicated from same area... stayed in the field for all of warm ups and then went up to the recruit section... my son didn't want to hang down there by himself as the commits hung out together and the bigger names on official visits were with people... the recruiting coordinator came up to stands and said he wanted him down there for the walkout and stuff... very much showed him individual attention no one else got, although most have already been there.. but anyways the recruiting coordinator sat with my sons and i... the game was terrible, uva blows and the fans exited early... they took us to a lounge and gave us snacks and stuff at half time and then on way out of game got police escort out... fans were just saying all the time hoping we're enjoying our stay...
