So no biggy, then, that there have been 417 reported school shootings in the past 25 years? And when a kid does get shot in school, it has zero affect on the other students in the school who didn’t get shot. Good to know. Thanks for the keen insight on the psyche of school students as they over-react to their classmates getting gunned down in the same building where they spend five days a week. I worked with dozens of people whose children attended Joppatown HS in Md. Next time I see them, I’ll let them know that their stress and fear about sending their kids to school is unfounded and irrational. 🙄There are over 100,000 schools in the US. The most recent event in your precious database of 417 shootings over the last 25 years
"Joppatowne High School in Joppa, Md.0 dead1 injured 770 children present in school
A 16-year-old student shot and wounded a 15-year-old student in a bathroom."
"March 26, 2024Charleston Junior/Senior High School in Charleston, Mo.0 dead0 injured300 children present in school
A 14-year-old male showed a handgun and then it discharged following an altercation in the men's restroom."
You say "Columbine" like there were 417 Columbines when reality is the vast majority were not mass shooting events. Parking lot altercations and one on one violence predominate upon quick perusal. They are just bringing the neighborhood violence into the school - you think these kids aren't doing these things in the streets too?
Saying 343k kids have experienced gun violence is pretty absurd when all 770 students in Joppatown get to be victims of the one-on-one bathroom incident that very well could have been a kid defending himself from a bully. Its the COLUMBINE2.0 fear that creates the trauma. EVERY student does shooting drills and is affected for the one or two in 100,0000 real incidents per year. Rather than institutionalize the known crazies or god forbid arm qualified teachers- lets traumatize our entire population.
