"Defense is great" They played Northwestern and Cincinnati. And lost to both. Not exactly greatness.

Both of those teams start a quarterback and we don't. They're a better team with a better coach, compared to Purdue.

I'm more confused than hurt considering the amount of those threads I created last season. It was nary an issue. I know IrishLion is often busy with his mosh pitting and storming the castle.

Put me in the camp that really has no idea what to expect. I've love something in between TAMU and Purdue. Just a win would probably suffice.

I think we win, but I think it’s a one score game and we’re sitting on the edge of our seat late in the 4th quarter. Miami had a good team last year and while they’re 0-2, the defense appears to be pretty salty. I can see them shutting down our passing game and this being a low scoring game. 17-10 Irish

Lots of ND connections on this Redskins RedHawks coaching staff:

Miami will bring plenty of familiarity to Notre Dame Stadium, starting with head coach Chuck Martin, now in his 11th season in Oxford after four seasons in South Bend. Offensive coordinator Pat Welsh and defensive coordinator Bill Brechin were on Notre Dame’s staff with Martin. Safeties coach Robert Blanton played for Notre Dame during Martin’s tenure, which included time as offensive coordinator and defensive coach. Quarterbacks coach Gus Ragland not only started against Notre Dame during Miami’s last trip here seven years ago, but he was also on staff at Notre Dame (2019-22), which included Freeman’s first as head coach.
