Auburn just had a huge weeked with 8 public commits so far including a bunch of guys they flipped from bama, but deuce hasnt done anything public.

On one hand, knight has been saying for a while he wants to keep open relationships with other staffs, but is locked in to ND unless a coaching change occurs. Not ideal but I guess understandable.

Perhaps the projected receiver class falling apart this month has given him additional reservations. Auburn just got an elite WR commit, and their incoming WR class is nasty (I love ours but on paper they def have the superior '24 WR class). My gut is that if leonard is in the vicinity of the Heisman conversation, he's likely to stick with ND. Otherwise, not sure I see it.

Best I can do....

KVA from the clutches of OSU?
Cam Williams from Mich?
.....
Jaylen Sneed from southern powerhouse South Carolina?!
All true statements! But I was more referring to Notre Dame going "Hey, that's a nice WR commit you have there, Texas. How about we steal him from you?" Every one of these recruitments seems to be Notre Dame trying to land them early and praying to God they keep him, not swinging a big **** and grabbing Georgia's best guy.

They must be handing out some serious, serious cash. I'll never understand the appeal of playing for a slimeball like Hugh Freeze.

I salute you guys who still follow recruiting closely. I bowed out years ago when things were way simpler and still found it mostly unenjoyable. Stay strong out there gentlemen.
Same here until it gets closer to signing day. Unfortunately, in the off season; the only big news typically is a big commit or a big loss (flip or commit elsewhere). I thought they would’ve learned not to put all their eggs in one basket but we also don’t know what was agreed upon behind closed doors.

I heard Tom Lemming that while ND has stepped up to the table in regards to NIL, they’ll rarely be in on top 50 guys due to the lengths other teams are willing to go w/ NIL. He added that kids get told not to admit that NIL is that main driver but there’s no question that it is. He wasn’t saying that as a negative just that you have to be realistic when some kid & his parent(s) say things like education, proximity to home, etc are most important.

I think this ends like we all fear it will end. Mostly b/c Loy is more pessimistic in him sticking.

Yeah no I'm sure they haven't spoken in months.

It was reported that ND was fully aware he was visiting Auburn (and you'd assume also Ole Miss). Most likely scenario, our stance is "you're curious, go see what's out there, settle this once and for all before your senior year starts," and we're confident enough that in the end he won't be swayed by perennial SEC also-rans and sticks with his original choice to get out of his natural comfort zone and do great things. Because also let's be real, if he picks Ole Miss or Auburn it's not because he wants to win championships. His loss. We'll be fine. Even at this relatively late date in the cycle, there are other fish in the sea.
Great post! I agree about the bold, $$$ only buy's and doesn't guarantee anything this era of the game.

Recruitments like this are the very reason I do not follow it anymore. I just look at the team once we get to opening week. That is who I care about!

Same here. I follow it, hope we do well...but just do not get worked up about anyone in the class until it signs.

Started it after Deontay Greenberry and never looked back.

You seriously have to try this. Ground up a pound of lean grass fed beef (I know it sounds like it wouldn’t be as good as the fattier stuff, but it’s actually better). Make a cup of jasmine rice. Season the beef with either taco seasoning or if you’re not into that, just go with salt and pepper. Put the beef over the rice. Top it with a lot (be liberal) of crushed garlic. The more the better. I get the jar stuff. Buy some cilantro paste and slap it in there. Mix it up. Then add some sour cream, diced onions (pickled are bomb too). If you have a little hot sauce it’s pretty good but I like to use a quality verde. Life changing.

Auburn will never be more than a .500 SEC team no matter how much they spend now. If this guy follows the $$ t Auburn, then he gets what he deserves getting pounded by every SEC team with a pulse while only making .500 by playing the Alabama States of the world.

Pretty crazy that the highest ranked uncommitted QB in the country in this class is the #619 ranked player in the country and we're still in July. Should be interesting trying to find a replacement.

FWIW, Kenny Minchey had been committed to Pitt for months when we offered him two years ago yesterday. (He flipped to us in November). We'll find someone if we have to. Right now, we don't have to.

Recruit from the portal when you strike out for future...I still hope he comes obviously but missing on players for future with just projection you can at least supplement with known production.. not sour grapes but why I dgaf about recruiting anymore... $ always talks and certainly get it and actually as a fan when we strike out then look to see who we can get in portal... it's the new recruiting model and it's not just ND... maybe I've succumb to lowered expectations than when I grew up watching but I'll watch regardless because it's the highlight of my fall and spending time with my kids watching ND like I did

I truly do not understand the logic of being upset about a HS kid decommitting in the age of the portal. 90% of these kids are after the bag (don't act like you'd be able to say no.) Enjoy the season that you're currently in, any one of those kids could bounce at the drop of a hat (or the cashing of a check.)

While I understand the logic, I've yet to see any real proof that ND is going to use the portal to go after non-grad transfers.

Getting some grad transfers is great and all, but they're mostly a stop gap and for the most part, grad transfers are grad transfers for a reason. If they were good enough, why aren't they in the draft? It's not often you have a grad transfer who has the talent to elevate your roster to major extent.

If ND is going to go that route and use the portal to plug up the holes, they have to be able to cast a wider net, which means being able to go after undergrads. They managed it this year, that's not likely to happen every year, and sometimes they're going to need more than just a 1-year stop gap.

It wasn't that long ago people were complaining that the staff wasn't getting commits early in the process. Now they get them and guess what?

To be fair, he did shock the world.

Ground bison + rice + sauce/seasonings is a core meal for me. Have it 5-6 times a week.

I’ll have to try it with bison. Any reason you choose bison over grass fed beef?

Genetic/familial hyperlipidemia. I keep pretty good tabs on my health, and I'm a bit of a tinkerer. Tried grass fed ground beef for two months, got my lipid panel done, and the number was pretty high. Switched to bison and my numbers dropped 50 points, so I figure I shouldn't mess with a good thing.
