I did also see CJ Williams drop a long pass that would have set them up 1st and goal hahaAre you guys seeing these WI WRs catch the ball? Strong hands on every pass, very impressive.
losingHe can’t recruit and his best success stories are Alec Pierce and Tyler Scott.
What are we doing here?
6 weeks, baby. 6 weeks.Well the off-season cannot end quick enough.
Recipes in recruit and team threads are my least favorite thing about this site.Oh here we go.
Too early for recipes and the like?
This will be the what 5th yr without long and 3rd without del…. Wr play under them was significantly better than the last 2 years. And with the portal, no excuse for how bad our wr play has been last 2 years.I keep thinking of chip long saying “you could time Notre dame’s receivers with a sun dial.” He and Del directly contributed to this freaking mess that only continues today.

This cycle in comparison to contenders was atrocious!! 3 guys outside of the Top 500WR and RB coaches are recruiting positions. Talent acquisition is 90% of that job.
You really think that's the issue? Last year's wr class was excellent after two of the worst years of production from our wider receivers in recent memory.Going ground and pound for so long is killing us.
A big reason we're so ground and pound is when was the last time we had the QB/WR combo to do anything else?Going ground and pound for so long is killing us.
Young talent is inexperienced talent. Exceptional players can see the field early, but you can't have all your starters being underclassmen. You need upperclassmen leaders. They make fewer mental mistakes, they're more polished players, and they have the confidence to execute. Too much youth and you run into 2021/2022 issues: Estime fumbles, Merriweather incorrect routes, etc.You really think that's the issue? This is seriously a middle of the pack B10 or ACC team haulThis cycle in comparison to contenders was atrocious!! 3 guys outside of the Top 500
RB: Justin Thurman #383 4*
Daniel Anderson #811 3*
WR: Elijah Burress #553 3*
Jerome Bettis II #825 3*
That’s what it looks like when the RB coach didn’t think he’d still be here and the WR coach maybe shouldn’t be.This cycle in comparison to contenders was atrocious!! 3 guys outside of the Top 500

Not really that, it's been some heavy passing years but just more TE friendly as opposed to WRs.Going ground and pound for so long is killing us.
That’s not how that works for a fewDoes his recruiting need to be better? Yes absolutely but let’s realistically see what he does as a coach and maybe give him more than one off season to start screaming he needs replaced. Fans are so unrealistic sometimes
Agree it's too early to completely know, but most people thought it was a disappointing hire. So the runway in fans eyes is probably shorter than most would have.Does his recruiting need to be better?
