People are giving Mike Brown alot of shit but he inherited an absolute dumpster fire and supposedly we weren't in a good spot with Meadows, Robinson or Hines when he took over. He did a lot in those recruitments over a very short period of time.
Gerald Pokers horrible offense last year is more to blame then anything

He said he was close but would dig more. I'm assuming that's where he ran into some hesitation. There's other people out west who think ND leads as well but it's not over yet that's for sure.

I don't see any realistic scenario where we go 0/3 on Meadows, Hines, and Robinson. If we do, that's a bad look, but I wouldn't panic. There's more room for portal WR's.

He's the highest possible 3 star on 247 (and in fact a composite 4 star) and they are big leaders to land top 100 Andrew Marsh and high 3 star Phillip Wright.

If we go 0/3, that's a bad look, but thankfully we have the portal. IF we go 0/3, I hope they don't try and bring in 1-2 more Bettis types who have limited upside. I would hope they save them for the portal and have it light a fire underneath Brown going into next season with the 2026 WR's.

I’ll reserve all judgement until after the season and the following signing day. Damn some of you guys act like the world is over. Yes it could be rough at WR or maybe things will totally change and names we have no idea about will pop up. Signing day is way off and there is literal football to still be played. No one has any idea how things are going to play out so let them play out. Discussing stuff is cool. Freaking out about things totally out of your control is lame.

That's nine receivers for '25, you're not adding 3 more guys to that total unless there's transfers. Same with Safety and Linebacker. That's why I was skeptical that we were getting all those kids. Kiser is the only LB out of eligibility and we have 8 LBs but we're going to add 4 to have 12 guys when only 2 play most of the time? Same thing at Safety, 3 juniors, 3 sophomores, and 3 freshman. If ND was going to land all those guys there would be no room for grad players and a lot kids would have to transfer to make room. Maybe add one more WR, and get a portal kid to replace a transfer or two and we're good. As far as Taylor...with Long, Blair, Johnson and Powell as underclassmen I'm good with grabbing a starting caliber S in the portal to pair with Shuler and letting Johnson or Blair get reps as the 3rd or 4th Safety. Much rather have that than Shuler, Talich, and Minich or a bunch of freshman on the backend(at Safety) for '25.

Just a reminder: this board is a fun distraction from real life; about a small-ish Catholic college in northern Indiana. Coach Freeman is a guy worth rooting for in the best and worst times and the kids on the roster all chose to work harder than necessary while juggling a semi-professional sports schedule. Things are alright.

Yes they are... Many of us, probably you as well, want better than alright. Expect better than alright, and put too much money, or passion, or love into ND for alright to be acceptable. It's not what ND stands for.

It's just putting more pressure on 24 being the great season we should have.

We have some really good pieces to this recruiting class, but the most head scratchers for a freeman class.

Don’t have a lot of time to discuss it, but…

Freeman screwed the pooch on this class the last 3 weeks.
Didn’t have visits the last week, didn’t stick around the week after that while recruits were all in “decision making mode.”
Instead, Freeman went on a 3 week vacation & sent his entire staff on one too.
Didn’t split them up so half were around to recruit.
Didn’t stick around himself to talk to recruits during the first week when they all were deciding.
