I pre-ordered it and apparently get it 3 days earlier. Now, I need to get my 12-year-old to figure out how to load it.

I’ve been out of the video game scene for awhile, but the gameplay looks fun!

Everyone complains about Madden, does this look better?
appears to me that the game plays much much faster than madden. Makes it look a little arcadey and cartoonish to me. A lot of issues that plagued NCAA 14 are still in the game engine sadly

Look at this run here the RB looks like hes skating on ice when juking

Big-Juke.gif

also option defense is still broken sadly look at the outside defender here:

EA had 10 years to make improvements on the engine and this is what they are trotting out? How has there not been a complete re-write of the engine to make this feel/look better? I'm not even buying it but I was hoping to hear all of you guys talking about how amazing the gameplay feels.

It does seem to play “faster” than madden. To me that’s not a bad thing as I feel like madden players react terribly slow.

Gameplay seems to be getting very positive reviews so far from the brief clips out there.

NCAA14 is the greatest football game of all time IMO. This looks like that. If you didn’t like 14 you won’t like this, but I think most people that have been dying for a NCAA14 update will love it.

Reddit nerds are saying the gameplay deep dive was at 30fps and makes the players appear faster. I dunno!

I have the game in my cart on the PS network but something is stopping me from buying it.
$75.57 for a video game?

Reddit nerds are dumb 😂 30 fps would mean it appears slower not faster considering most modern games run at minimum 60 fps. There's a reason esport pros play cs and other comp games at the highest fps they can

Blame EA for the engine they use for all games. THAT engine is awful. Seems the developers have to do what they can.

Here's the thread:

The EA released deep dive video (in 30fps) is on top and Bordeaux's video of the same play is in 60fps. The 30fps appears far different. This was a comment after someone mentioned the same thing as you:

You said it. “Feel” slower. But that doesn’t mean it “looks” slower. 30FPS means less of the animation is being shown on screen. This gives more of an arcadey look to the game making it look fast. For instance, this is precisely how anime depicts speed: the character moves so fast that they seem to jump around the scene, almost as if parts of the animation are skipped due to their rapid movements. Same principle applies here. The player animations are skipping too many frames making it look jumpy, fast, and arcade like. 60FPS makes this game look damn near perfect.

Oh for sure. I played more NCAA games than most of you but my playing started in 2001-2010. If everyone was wanting a graphic update of 2014, I'm sure everyone will be happy.

I'm definitely the outlier in that I have no immediate plans to buy the game but I would've loved for them to scrap the physics engine and rewrite so we got more realistic, non-skating game play. That was a gripe when I was playing, spin moves and jukes look decoupled from the ground. Would've thought modern processors would be capable of having the entities appear to interact with the environment a little more organically.

I also wanted to see some unique twists. I always thought an "in the zone" mode where players who string together a few plays: RBs, QBs, WRs, DL, LB, CB, S would have an increase in their reaction times and the game would progressively slow down so the button presses had a bigger window/greater chance of being successful and the opponent's timing window would grow smaller and smaller.

There are many ways a game could be improved and many ways to make it worse. Sounds like EA played it safe. Hope they take some chances to reimagine the game in the next few years.

It does still look like fun.

Basically agreeing with what I said it looks clunky at 30 fps, game speed won't be changed but it will look and feel faster at 60 fps

Okay, I guess what I was pointing out is that in dublinirish's complaint above about Edwards' juke looking like he's skating on ice it's because it's 30fps and far more arcade-y looking.

The 60fps clip of that play looks far smoother, much slower, and you can see Edwards' feet and hips a lot better as he executes the juke.

Watch the raw footage in 60fps it's way better and much smoother gameplay.

I don't think EA played it safe at all!?? Unless that only means a new physics engine which we've known for years wasn't coming...

I'm not sure 'in the zone' mode is that interesting. EA has created a hundred cooler things in the new game.

Honestly very pumped to try the new Road to Glory mode, despite how invested I used to be in dynasty.

Bummed there won’t be a high school season to play through to gather offers (and the depth of schedule/team editing for high school alone was sweet in ‘14), but VERY excited to start at a small school and then hit the portal to the big time after a season as a freshman phenom.

I was gonna wait until the actual release day to get the game. But I may spend the $30 for the deluxe version so I can play it 3 days early. You get stuff for Ultimate Team too.

Is anyone picking a lesser team to try and rebuild in dynasty mode? I’m trying to choose between ECU, App State, and Charlotte

I always start as OC at a 1* program and work my way up the coaching ranks to head coach at ND.

Used to always start as OC at Western Kentucky. They were a one-star program in NCAA14, but had a good QB/RB combo during the Willie Taggart days. In-state recruiting in KY was surprisingly good, and they also had GA as a pipeline state. That helped if I decided to move up to HC if Taggart left in the carousel.

They’re probably a 2-star school now based on recent success, so might have to start as OC for Rich Rod at Jacksonville State, or maybe OC at Texas State where recruiting ground is very fertile.

I wish we were able to see the program star rankings before the game is released

The "Launch Roster Reveal" is today, I'm not sure what that entails exactly but I would hope program star rankings and overalls are coming out.

When I was younger, and had way more time, especially when the online dynasty started, I typically had three dynasties going.

One I started out as the head coach of Notre Dame and saw how much of a juggernaut I could make the Irish in a short time.

The second Was being the offensive coordinator of a one star program, and seeing where the coaching carousel took me, hoping to eventually become the head coach Notre Dame years down the road.

The third was online dynasty with a couple friends, and we’d see how many seasons we can get in. We usually all take MAC teams, Sunbelt teams, or Conference USA teams.
