Deuce went 12-16 with 3TDs in 7v7.
But of course they throw in he took a few sacks.
In a real game he gets sacked 0 times and runs for a lot of yards & TDs.
But I’m sure they will ding him for that.

I was told to pump the brakes last week when I mentioned he has #1 overall talent. It's obviously crazy early, but the dude absolutely is what NFL scouts are looking for. He's a freak. We have to get him

Keelon Russell won Elite11's overall MVP award. Haven't seen the full rankings yet. Amazing how Bama whiffed on their top QB prospects and pivotted to a late riser who's gonna likely end up a 5 star anyway.

Elite 11’s is based off of prior film, traits & the finals.
So what Deuce did over the past 3 days was better, but they look at a lot more precious stuff for their award.

Same one of two things happens. Carr is QB next year and then battles with Deuce in year 3, or Deuce comes on and wins the job year one.

If Knight is as good as everyone hypes him up to be, Carr is gonna have a hell of a time keeping QB1 status

I don't know about that. Carr has already looked pretty damn good as an early enrollee. He's got a good chance to win the job outright next year. He'll already have a leg up on Deuce by the time he steps on campus. Deuce can sit for 2 years like Manning, then ball out for a year or two before the NFL comes calling.

I feel like Arch is a very unique case, because of his last name.
I can’t see someone with Deuce’s confidence wanting to sit on his hands for two years.

And its only sitting two years assuming Carr kills it and goes pro after his true junior year

Otherwise Knight would have to sit three years and there's certainly no way he does that

Carr starts rs frosh/soph
Knight frosh (1 sat)

2026
Carr starts rs soph/junior
Knight rs frosh/soph (2 sat)

2027
Carr starts rs junior/senior
Knight rs soph/junior (3 sat--no way)

Or

Carr goes pro early
Knight starts as rs soph/junior (2 sat)

I'd say most likely path to Knight becoming a starter is if Angeli beats Carr out for 2025 and then Knight/Carr have a competition in 2026 and Knight beats out Carr

Otherwise I think Carr would be too good and gain too much game experience over Knight if he's the starter in 2025 as a RS frosh to then turn around and get unseated by Knight in 2026

I'm guessing Knight would be willing to sit two years max or otherwise he will transfer

The good news for fans is that it's highly likely ND will have very good/elite QB play in the 2026-2027 seasons one way or another

But I'd say the odds of a smooth Carr to Knight transition in 2027 is likely very low although would be the dream scenario

The staff has to chase a big time recruit every year now, because this NIL era and 15 or even 16 game seasons with the new playoff structure means the likelihood is two guys will play a season because of injury + top end QB talent will continue to have thier heads turned even while on campus every off season by open QB spots at contenders + further NIL recruiting pitches.
It's the new reality.

This is not a pump the breaks because I love the consistency and talent we should get with Carr, potential high upside with leonard and minchey, then incredible upside with deuce.

With that said, kelly went on a run of landing big time qbs. This shows you evaluation isn't always right and development is so critical post high school

He landed Kiel (everyone was so high on), then Zaire, then kizer, then Wimbush ( i was crazy high on him like deuce), Book (the only qb on this list people weren't high on), then Phil (everyone was super high on)..... Kelly had a crazy good run at landing QBs, he just missed a bunch on their evals (many people did) and also did a poor job developing. It was a 6 to 7 year run that everyone thought we were going to have consistent high talent top QB play.

Zaire and Kiser are not the level of these two. They are Minchey tier. Kelly never got qbs like this back to back. So if one or two didnt pan out, we were screwed
