Anyone watching the Euros?
Germany is gonna have a good tourney I think.Yes. Germany and Spain looked good or maybe Scotland and Croatia are shit.
Maybe the Serbs play some defense tomorrow and get an upset.
Pretty sure Croatia are past their prime but you never know.Germany is gonna have a good tourney I think.
Croatia is kinda old now aren't they?
They've been to three finals in the last four major competitions. They're one of the favorites in this tournament even prior to everyone giving up on England after yesterday.France will either blow everyone out or there will be behind the scenes issues and drama and crash out in the group phase.
Honestly, I don't remember, but did the France issues at World Cup 22 come out after it was over or was it known before it started? They've been to three finals in the last four major competitions. Other than players being asked political questions, there do not appear to be any issues facing them. Mbappe is fit, their squad is as deep as anyone.
Their issue was Messi.Honestly, I don't remember, but did the France issues at World Cup 22 come out after it was over or was it known before it started?
Belgium could have used a response similar to what Italy did against Albania. Didn't happen.
Lots of talk about Germany and Spain. I think Scotland and Croatia will not hold up in this tournament. Many are already counting out England after a 1-0 victory. Not a lot of talk about France, which is surprising considering they were World Cup runners up.
Just getting started.
Dont be sleeping on Italy. If anyone of these teams can grind out a 1-0 win routinely, its Italy. In tournaments like these I don't put a lot into process. It's about results. A lot of these early group games are seeing teams just trying not to get rolled over because some third place group teams will go to the knockout round. After seeing what Germany and Spain did, I think you saw Serbia and Austria play with a great deal of caution. The way Serbia initially set up for that match was a complete joke.
I still don't know what Germany proves against Hungary and Switzerland. They could take all three points in both. Their tests come in the knockout round. They're the host nation and while there is some advantage to that, quality matters most.
Italy is very inexperienced. It helped that Albania let them have the ball for the entire first half. If you don't press and leave oceans of space, you're not going to have the ball. Albania scoring so quickly was probably not good for them. They had no idea what to do.Dont be sleeping on Italy. If anyone of these teams can grind out a 1-0 win routinely, its Italy.
Im also liking Netherlands this tournament. France wont have Mbappe versus the Dutch.
I like how Southgate has basically put Bellingham, Foden and Alexander Arnold into cuffs.
Like, he's going to not allow all three of them to do what they do best. Great strategy.
After they don't win anything again, the result is him still winding up as manager of Manchester United. Blimey.
My friends across the pond all think he's a fraud. Sample size of about eight people, but none of them are fans of his.Not a tactics guy is he? He's just a vibes guy really. He would be a terrible club manager.
I agree, especially after allowing the early 2nd half goal. They opened up a bit a created so really nice chances that could have tied it. It wasn't as one sided as I expected.I thought Canada played Argentina with a great amount of grit last night. The stoppage time goal by Martinez was absolutely beautiful football, though. The ball movement by Argentina was incredible.
Imagine subbing Martinez on for Julian Alvarez. That's depth that Canada wasn't going to be able to withstand in the end.
I'm curious to see what Jesse Marsch can do with them. I would have liked to have seen him get the USMNT job.
